It just so happens I have two 😈

To keep a long story short — my brain is catching up on 10 years of interrupted REM sleep.

Some nights I have fun dreams — vivid, lucid, loving.

Last night I was terrorized all night by a nightmare involving a late conservative family member who I never came out of the closet to.

I quit cannabis last month when my partner ended our relationship.

I smoked or otherwise used 🍃 daily for the last 8-10 years.

About two weeks after I quit I started dreaming again.

For those who don’t know — 🍃 suppresses REM sleep.

🎶 I need a pep talk.

🎶I need a hug.

🎶I need a dancefloor.

Tense is a good word to describe it.

It feels like a manifestation of nobody wanting to be looked at as cringe —Why dance like a goof if someone’s going to record you and put you on the internet vibe.

When I go to DC, at least people dance. Even if the groups (pups especially) feel very cliquey.

This feeling feels magnified in Baltimore as well. At our bars, nobody dances. Everyone just stands around drinking and looking at each other.

Even in play spaces it’s just a wall of people standing, waiting, doing nothing.

True spontaneous energy is rarely reciprocated.

I think on of the things I’ve wanted to do the most and have actually done the least is doing professional photoshoots of pups and even myself.

I’m a professional photographer, and yet I have only done one real shoot of a pup and I have never taken the time to make pro content for myself as a pup.

I also often feel in my head, like I don’t belong or I’m “posing” because I don’t have that many close pup friends.

My brain does this mean thing where I assume anyone I want to talk to wouldn’t want to talk with me back.

I routinely prove this feeling wrong.

And yet, it persists.

And even though I know the kind of person/pup I want to be, and I recognize the things that are making me work toward those goals in a pawsitive way, it feels harder for me because of my neurodivergence.

I’ve always been a bit better at joining a conversation than I am at starting one I guess.

I assume a lot of pups just crash on their friend’s couch’s when they visit other cities. And I know networking is probably the solution.

I just feel stuck in regard to making more pup friends.

I just want to be a happy goofy good boy, I want scratches and pets, cuddles and affection.

And as much as I want to explore other city’s pup events, it feels like everything is so far away, and traveling is getting so expensive.

Baltimore only has so many pup events and it always seems like a crap shoot running into like minded puppy’s at the bars.

I want to spend more time doing pup stuff, but I feel like I struggle to network effectively when I meet pups out at events. Do any other neurodivergent doggos feel like they have this issue? Like it kind of feels like every time I forget to grab their Instagram or connect with a number.

Feeling like I need to find a way to not live in the USA asap 😭😰
