My first article for @npquarterly.bsky.social has arrived!
It's about nonprofits removing banned language, including mentions of vulnerable and marginalized people, from websites and public docs.
Some orgs are being ordered to do so by the Trump administration.
Others are obeying in advance.

Once again I'd like to express my gratitude to @chriscoyier.net for the CSS flexbox layout guide. Priceless. IYKYK
Awesome! Want to play with this and @gravityforms.com
What?! This looks awesome
A good feeling: moving a client from the "Past Clients" folder back into the "Active Clients" folder in ClickUp 😊
For any consultants out there that aren't focusing effort on building long term relationships with clients even after their projects end, you're playing on hard mode.
We've got 3 open roles at @runforsomething.bsky.social - VP of Development, Senior Director of Comms & Marketing, and Director of Digital Comms. RFS has a 4 day work week, great benefits, & most importantly, an urgent mission. Spread the word far & wide. runforsomething.net/about/jobs/

Imagine heading into a website migration (which is what this org is doing) without figuring this out first!
Currently waiting on Search Console to verify so we can understanding which URLs Google has indexed so we can preserve that organic search visibility through the migration.
Working on a website content audit that is kinda terrifying. Those four URLs highlighted are four identical, duplicate pages. No redirects to one primary version of the page. No canonical tags. Just four duplicate pages 🤯
#5 At the end of the letter, in a PS line, they write "I know our team at Groundswell would love to meet with you—if you're interested contact my colleague ..." followed by a real person's name and email. (6/6)
#4 Groundswell Fund is structured to include both 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) entities – both entities can accept donations, but only donations to the 501(c)(3) entity are tax deductible, which is important information for donors! (5/6)
#3 After scanning the QR code, the donation page was mobile responsive, and accepted Apply Pay at the final stage of the checkout, saving me from having to type in my card details. (4/6)
#2 There's additional information about other giving options, and a contact email address right there below the online option. If I had questions, I could reach out to someone easily. (3/6)
#1 I didn't have to type a URL into my browser, or use Google to navigate to their giving page. I just scanned the QR code with my phone and was immediately on the donation page. (2/6)

In this week's edition of The Digital Landscape, I shared some donation appeal tips from an appeal letter from Groundswell Fund (not on bluesky?)
When your donors are awash in the 🌊 of appeal emails and mailers, having print and digital tools working well together can make all the difference. (1/6)
A cover title that reads: Rep. Pressley's Statement on Presidential Pardon
Rep. Ayanna Pressley’s Statement on Presidential Pardon (1/2): “Today, I’m thinking of the hundreds of thousands of people who pose no threat to society and whose lives are deteriorating due to America’s mass incarceration crisis and unjust criminal legal system. “President Biden used his pardon authority last night in response to what he saw as an injustice of the legal system. In the remaining days of his presidency, I have called on President Biden to use his clemency power to change the lives of families across this nation—families who are disproportionately Black and brown, with loved ones behind the wall, suffering from injustices of the legal system. Specifically, I implore the President to consider pardons for those in federal custody with unjustified sentencing disparities, the elderly and chronically ill, people on death row, women punished for crimes of their abusers, and many, many more.
Rep. Ayanna Pressley’s Statement on Presidential Pardon (2/2): “This issue is deeply personal to me. As the daughter of a formerly incarcerated parent who has gone on to make great contributions to society, I know firsthand how life-changing the President’s action would be and how much hope it would give to millions who call America home. “Today, with 49 days remaining in his presidency, President Biden has an opportunity to cement his legacy as one of the most compassionate and impactful Presidents of our time. For the families harmed by mass incarceration, he must act.”
I'm thinking of all the people who pose no threat to society & whose lives are deteriorating due to our mass incarceration crisis & unjust criminal legal system.
For the families harmed by mass incarceration, President Biden must act.
Here's my statement on his pardon this week.
This intro to the open network concept was helpful for me. Would love to hear more (or get reading suggested to me) on the differences between the benefits of AT protocol and what’s going on with Mastodon, etc. Two different models, right? Thanks @emilyliu.me
Apparently big Google is just inserting links into websites now, if you’re using the Google app to browse on iOS?!
Another wild attempt to pull web users back from websites to Google Search.

The sweet feeling of reducing technical debt on some client sites 🧹🧹 🚮 and crossing some plugins off the list I have to maintain.
Upgrading a limited # of sites to unlimited (whatever they call it), anticipating needing to use it on more projects next year
Glad to be here! Loving these early twitter feels
