It’s tough to analyze Giroux’s career from an accolade standpoint because:
1) Philly’s front office did an abysmal job surrounding him with any other talent
2) He was strangely overlooked for a few recognitions that he was more than deserving of (2018 Hart Trophy, 2014 Canadian Olympic roster)

Little things like this are a great reminder that everything is a construct:
My initial reaction to finding out that this guy’s first name is “R Mason” was that it was weird, but humans invented the concept of names and they can literally be anything. No name is inherently “weirder” than any other.

I’ve been watching Black QBs in Philly since McNabb and if any of them had played as recklessly with the football was Josh Allen does week to week they’d be saying he was incapable of leading an NFL offense.
a sad but direct correlation between how bad the world has to be in order for the Sixers to be good
Turns out the Sixers are a pretty dynamic team when (almost) all of their good players are alive at the same time
I like this signing, however this is not the *Ranger* I would like to see them sign this week.
This is a super interesting 3 minute watch for anyone who even casually likes basketball data. A conundrum!
One of the things I always liked about the old logo was that in addition to being an “M” for Mercury, it also had—intentionally or not—a “W” in it, representing the league.
This new one fully eliminates that. 😞
The Sixers' record during the three years of the Process:
19-63
18-64
10-72
The Wizards' record over the last three seasons:
15-67
18-64
1-15

In retrospect it’s pretty fucking terrible for my mental health that the sun starts setting at 4 pm every year right when the baseball season ends.
Not the Flyers/Sens trade I was hoping for!

Had this same thought as I gave up and went to bed around inning 16.

Great news, everybody!
Citizens Bank Park is destroyed, our long national nightmare is over.
In terms of Goals Saved Above Average, no one has ever had a better season than—or even really come close to—1973-74 Bernie Parent.
But beyond the stat sheet, he was just a downright good dude. 🫡
