It wouldnt be the worst to miss top 8 results because you still get points, but that could cause a wrench in the current way of doing things. It's standard in other comp games, but here it might go against the goals of NA League if it possibly reduces participation. wish there was a simpler solution
What about availability concerns? I know especially with it being in NA religious concerns with Sunday morning timeslot can be an issue. Wouldn't that require everyone to either utilize their sub or commit to a Sunday if they think they have a chance at top 8? I worry it could affect participation.
Idc how this winners finals shakes out Moonlight going game 5 is crazy improvement #Splatoon3NAL2026
Ink (Ball) knowledge is everything
Really like when commentators arent afraid to take a side on the set/game
Not in the like cheering for one team over the other, but moreso in just arguing that one team is better here and that they have what it takes etc
Opinionated, I guess is the word
i have no respect for people who have an ego so big over a video game that they act like an anime protagonist on twitter but berate their teammates in vc every time they lose. luffy would hate you

Our feature artist/tutorial today is by the talented @tonikopantoja, and looks at adding more POP and SNAP to your character animation using OVERSHOOTS! Awesome examples here! #animation #animationdev #gamedev #gameart #manga #characterdesign #drawing #comicart
Yeah I don't think it ever will be nor would I want that, but it would be have an LSF-esque type culture or that one Toasty smash guy (from smash back in 2018 not any toastys from Splatoon). The people do yearn for clips but no one is providing. It proved well on beep socials for sendouq finale
I agree. I've tried clipping stuff and it's exhausting, but it would be nice that if someone does see something cool every once in a while to share with the class instead of letting the moment die. That's why the internet was made in the first place. To share awesome moments :D
tl;dw there's an underground community of ppl who get paid to clip one streamer if they manage to hit x thousand views on the clips. Sometimes it's in the thousands. When you have multiple people posting clips about one topic. Socmed algos think it's authentic engagement and a trending topic
Though I will add that clip farming from multiple different sources creates intrigue not the other way around. I don't know or care who clavicular is, but the way he has hijacked attention through socmed algos is because he gets clipped by a million ppl not bc ppl care about a tryhard incel
The current community doesn't even have a clipping culture and getting that community to begin clipping even for silly internet clout points is nigh impossible. Plus, TOs and streamers already do try and it's a daunting task.
The Splatoon content sphere is a fraction of a fraction of that size so if even a cent came through from clipping that would be a miracle. It's not the viewers that are bought, but rather the people clipping are given money if they manage to make clips blow up.
I mean it'd be nice but never sustainable. In the video, it doesn't even say it's people in the US that use this as a means of living, but instead it's a means for people in less wealthy countries to get their hands on USD essentially. It's typically taken overseas.
i watch a LOT of tournaments and i probably clip content more often than 99% of the community tbh
maybe i should start an account called "Comp Splatoon Clips" or something and post there regularly, and accept submissions?? maybe even a tiktok or yt channel for it too?
highest viewed H-Town clip gets merch? ๐
I forgot to add the video please watch it

Devin Nash recently made a recent video on the success of clipping culture and how there's an underground community of people getting paid to clip streams like bounties
Astroturfed "authentic" clip campaigns are the meta. It's not enough to clip your own stuff but to have 80 people clipping it
the massive Stake clipping industrial complex convinced every legacy media outlet and television show on the planet to talk about Clavicular because journalists can't figure out that the KickChamp5000 account posting 30 times in the last 24 hours might not be authentic
i have flipped my perspective on how to best produce content online. my advice is now livestream on 8 websites and viewbot every broadcast. followbot all accounts. discord and group chat vote manipulate all posts. astroturf every platform with clips. no one cares anymore or is too dumb to notice

For good measure but it's very interesting in how it's affecting esports specifically
