Progress photos of the coloured pencil portrait of a black and tan King Charles Spaniel called Penny. As the images progress, more of her features appear, starting with her eyes, then nose, tongue, muzzle, forehead, chest and ears. Finally, we can see the portrait framed.

I did this memorial portrait of the gorgeous Penny a few weeks ago and now that the recipient has received it, I can share her with the world. Everyone, meet the very much loved and missed Penny!

The woman, the myth, the legend! The woman she was partly based on was such a great teacher…and definitely scary! 😂

Keep your eyes peeled though. You never know what might turn up and I’ll keep my fingers crossed that things either improve for you or you find something better

the day of my return. No easing back in for me, ever. I even had approved leave removed at the last minute. Was told I was needed in case of sick leave so I stayed in the office alone for two weeks while everyone else got Christmas with their families. Rotten place altogether.

I remember someone telling the manager that I had stepped up when no one else did & that without me, the dept would have gone under only for her to reply ‘does she want a medal?’ Finally, when others had time off, they would not be sent out to workshops for the 1st week back but I was always out on

It was an odd situation. There was considerable problems with favouritism & I was left picking up the slack because ‘they have children’ & I didn’t. Plus, my work was diminished extensively, to the confusion of others. I was given a lot of responsibility & large projects but it would be downplayed

Good for you! Yes, I ended up being completely overwhelmed with both the volume and complexity of work I was being given. And of course, was paid the lowest level possible. Don’t let that happen to you because I ended up having to move jobs completely

How Ireland's far-right movement got involved in the fuel protests and tried to hijack them While many are protesting fuel costs, far-right actors and international figures are using the movement to push anti-immigrant narratives.

A good article by @thejournal.ie on the protests and there infiltration by the fascists. Its a balanced look at what's going on. #speirgorm

The fuel protests in Ireland are a Trojan Horse that aim to bring fascism to Ireland. We are witnessing the birth of an Irish version MAGA. The more you look, the more obvious it is that many of the key spokesmen (and they are all men) are dangerous anti-immigrant far right agitators.Wake up.

Calderdale wind farm "will not stop Bronte tourism" Calderdale Energy Park hopes to build 34 turbines on moorland between Hebden Bridge and Haworth.

It's an SSSI nature sanctuary for endangered species on peat - there are thousands of better suited locations for onshore wind across the UK. A terrible idea. I want more wind farms but not by breaking laws to protect our most important nature habitat. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I’d heartily recommend this for anyone who loves crime. Not for the faint hearted and you’ll not look at jars the same way after. Better still, it’s the first in a long series so you’ll have more books to look forward to!

Yes! The fomo is real with ours. I’m forever tripping over him because he’s basically clinging to me 24/7. Which I actually don’t mind tbh but my husband gets exasperated with it ☺️

Ours is very food driven but also likes to announce his arrival from upstairs to downstairs by barking at anything and anyone. He’ll also shriek at me if I leave him for an overnight visit and he grumbles. My lord does he grumble.

I’m very lucky in some ways. He was never a chewer, ever. Drama Queen? Yes! He is definitely the most dramatic dog I have ever owned.

I must be extremely lucky. I lost exactly 1/2 of a leaf thanks to my spaniel. Although he’s never chewed anything that he shouldn’t, even when he was a pup
