A golden full moon - the July ‘Hay Moon’ or ‘Buck Moon’ - rises low over silhouetted grasses, casting a warm glow into the dusky sky. Hints of soft cloud drift across a fading blue backdrop as the moon climbs.

Tonight brings the first full moon of summer: the Hay Moon 🌕🌾

Named by Anglo-Saxons for the hay harvest, it’s also called the ‘Buck Moon’, a Native American name marking the time young deer bucks grow new antlers.

Celts knew it as the Wyrt or Mead Moon, for herb gathering.
