Entirely because of good desktop-to-mobile handoff. But their AI-push has become unbearable, so I'm on the lookout for alternatives something fierce.

Which isn't to say that good writing spaces don't exist, but that the ones that check all the boxes for me seem to be unicorns, and I end up settling in one way or another.

I may not be the biggest AI-hater out here, but I *am* a big stickler on choice and environment. Finding a comfortable mobile-friendly writing environment/program that *doesn't* try to cram 'AI Assistance' down your throat is becoming a chore.

There's always something else that wants your attention, that wants your time, that wants your energy. Sometimes that's games. Or people. Or fun. Or a paying job. And to be a writer you must choose different. That can get exhausting.

The frustrating part of being a writer? The number of times you have to choose to be a writer.

Other choices can stick. If you become a driver, you can go to work and just be a driver. If you become a police officer, you can go just be a police officer.

Writing is an everyday choice.

I've never liked to call myself a "writer." I write, certainly, by which I mean I do put words onto a page.

Sometimes words are how the story is told. But sometimes it's told with colors or camera angles or sounds.

I like "Storyteller." It's broader in scope. Even if it doesn't turn as many heads.

Ever get to one of those sweet spots in a project, where all the ideas are flowing and everything's coming together and the whole thing would be perfect... If you could only get life to let you have an hour to write it down?
