Family physicians are often the ones providing this critical emergency care, alongside the full spectrum of longitudinal, relationship-based care their patients rely on. Every person in British Columbia deserves access to comprehensive, culturally safe care that’s close to home.

We echo the SRPC’s response to André Picard’s July 8 column. Rural emergency departments are not optional – they are essential to ensuring timely, equitable access to care for people in rural, remote, and underserved communities.👩‍⚕️
