Oh yes..... so true. Thankfully there is plenty of choice (at least in the UK) so that we can avoid a Swasticar.

Sorry - an unfortunate ambiguity.

I try not to lecture people about EVs. I am on my second, but everyone will pick their own time to start on that road (no pun intended). It will be different for everybody.
I always recommend having a test drive if you can. That's what persuaded me to change, even if it then took 2 years to do it.
It's beautiful to see the response to the illegal war in the Middle East: lots more solar panels around the world to reduce the need for fossil fuels.

Some jaw-dropping stats from the CATL announcement day. A 1,500km EV battery!

If you are buying a new car now, why go for the (more expensive) polluting option?
EVs are now on average cheaper to buy than ICEs, and definitely lower on running costs. They are nicer to drive and better for the environment.

Really sensible move. This government is taking the right steps to lower prices and improve energy security.

Brilliant evisceration by @billmckibben.bsky.social of the corruption caused by the fossil fuel companies over decades.
When historians write about this period, they will be aghast at the evil decisions made by those companies and their facilitators.

Another sign of climate change. A new name is needed for Japan's extreme heat.

It was bound to happen .... and it's good that we have now got past that psychological hurdle.
Of course EVs are much cheaper to run as long as you have access to domestic charging or equivalent.

The only possible rational response.
Despite the hatred of the frothing right wing press, @edmilibandmp.bsky.social is doing a good job.

What a sensible use of 'retired' EV batteries. Still lots of value in them before they are recycled.

Yet another example of the Murdoch empire delivering fossil fuel lies and propaganda.

When you look at system costs - this study examined the grid in Denmark specifically - the lowest cost option is a mix of solar and offshore wind.

Breaking the link between fossil gas and electricity prices sounds attractive. Let's see what the suggested approach is.

More and more of our electricity is being freed from the corrupt grasp of fossil fuels.

Everyone will want more storage to reduce exposure to fossil fuels at personal, state and national levels.

Agrivoltaics are the answer to providing low cost energy, high quality food and helping biodiversity. All round good news.

You have to wonder if this is a delayed April Fool's joke.
How insane must @bmwmotorrad.bsky.social be to think of producing a hydrogen car?

This big battery in South Australia means that a 300MW gas plant is no longer needed.

Panel recycling in Australia: a net financial and environmental benefit of $7.2bn.
Yet the haters will keep lying about recycling.

What an astonishing statistic. Australia is doing some really clever stuff.

Data centres require reliable electricity supply and they are signing power purchase agreements with renewables and storage.

Were the IPCC right in their projections for near-term warming in AR5?
They weren't far out, is the conclusion of this article from @edhawkins.org but underestimated the warming a little.
