No matter how you feel about the whole Redistricting thing, the people of Virginia were allowed a say on it.
The people of California were allowed a say on it in their state.
Cry harder, MAGA.
Let's not forget that the Texas legislature did their redistricting without any input from the citizens of Texas. Virginia put it to a vote by the citizens of Virginia. Big difference.
These two editorials by the Washington Post expose how the Republican Party and Democratic Party are held to completely different standards by the media.
Texas gerrymander: “Not a threat to democracy.”
Virginia gerrymander: “Power grab by Democrats.”

Me, too sis! Monthly pledge since 1989.
The Justice Dept’s theory of the case— that the group that single-handedly disassembled the Ku Klux Klan defrauded its donors by concealing that it was using paid informant to do that work and more— has about as much merit as the now-dismissed charges against Jim Comey.

The Legacy Media is owned by the Epstein Class (=Parasite class) & will never investigate or report on any issue that shines a bright light on the nefarious activities of Trump or his BFFs
Dan Schulman is the new CEO of Verizon and he is predicting 20 to 30% unemployment within the next 2 to 5 years due to AI.
Not a typo. He thinks 1/3 of people currently employed will lose their jobs by 2030.

Later in the 1970s, Roger Freeman — a key educational adviser to Nixon then working for the reelection of California governor Ronald Reagan — spelled out quite precisely what the conservative counter attack was aimed at preventing: "We are in danger of producing an educated proletariat. That's dynamite! We have to be selective on the we allow to go through higher education. If not we will have a large number of highly trained and unemployed people." The two most menacing institutional sources of the same described by Freeman were obviously those two great public university systems charging no tuition: the University of California and the City University of New York. Governor Reagan was able to wipe out free tuition at the University of California. Source: Vietnam and Other Fantasies, by H Bruce Franklin

89 candles would have set off the sprinklers, so we settled for one — and one perfect slice of cake (with @bradtakei.bsky.social on ice cream duty). Thank you to every friend, fan, and fellow traveler who has made these 89 years such a joyous voyage.

Meta just paid the lowest effective federal tax rate in its history.
Thanks to tax breaks and loopholes, it avoided $13.7B in 2025 federal income taxes.
But now it's planning to lay off 10% of its global workforce (8,000 people) by May 20 — with more job cuts later this year.
Trickle down hoax.
Stephen Miller wants a 30-foot steel wall on thousand-foot cliffs in Big Bend. The people who live there — ranchers, sheriffs, Native Americans, environmentalists — formed a coalition and are fighting back.

“Strange Fruit” was one of the first musical assaults on racism. It served as a declaration of war on injustice and a catalyst for the Civil Rights Movement. The recording was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1978 and selected for preservation in the Library of Congress in 2002. /end
