Decouple your art from your self, and do the same for every other artist. The art is what you make, but it’s not you, how people respond to it (or don’t) isn’t about you as a person. Strangers might love what you do and your loved ones might be indifferent. This is all okay.

The year is 2035. There are three game studios left. Each one produces a game every 10 years, killing 250+ developers in the process. They all accidentally make the same game because they used genAI in preproduction. They sell 500 million units each, missing quarterly targets. Everyone is laid off.
Indie devs: There is nothing stopping you from hopping onto SoundCloud (or any music platform), finding a song by a creator you like, and messaging/emailing them to ask if you can pay them to use their music.
It's frankly an amazing way to source music that hits for your game!
