It sucks! It sucks to put your whole heart into something you really enjoyed making and all anyone ever says is "yeah but what about my thing". It crushes your spirit and makes you want to stop making anything. It's not a compliment, it's dehumanizing.
Reminder that artists are not robots, so if you see your fav making something, please do NOT go "but what about (insert joke/interest)". It sucks ALL the joy out of making things. I have abandoned projects just because I don't want it soured by people only seeing it as permission to make demands.
