That is a different issue, and a real one. Along with the identification of sentience, all of which is important. Short version: speed does not equate sentience. And sentiencd does not equate emotion. And we have no idea how these will trigger each other.
Current "AI" is just pattern prediction

That is only doomsday if billionaires control AI and the government at the time. Correct the control and AI becomes a support, not a threat. We are far from that dynamic at the moment
