Curated another issue of FLARE, the literary magazine I am editor-in-chief of! Go give it a read! The issue is on medication (for mental health, chronic illness, and disability) and breaking the stigma surrounding it by talking about it!
Excited to announce my literary magazine was also nominated for the 2026 Indieverse Awards for the โBook Media I Always Catch Up Onโ category!
Our EIC's poetry chapbook about lupus, a chronic illness, is a nominee for both the Love the Skin You're In and The Boundary Pusher categories for the Indieverse Awards! ๐ฅ

Been getting fantasy short stories rejected up the wazoo lately, but either, I'll keep submitting them to lit mags, or I'll just create a short story collection at this point. Turning rejection "pain" into power. ๐

Love having long text message threads via DMs on social media with 5+ people. I love it. I love the chaos. I love connecting with other writers who write as many paragraphs as I do while messaging ๐
Ughhhh been in a rejection slump lately. Is it stopping me? Never. Is it kind of bumming me out though? Lol, a little bit.
But so it goes. Between query/full rejections and lit mag rejections, it's been a rough rejection couple of weeks.
But I'm still writing, still submitting!

Love love love how my story Cypress Mother looks published in @flarelitmag.bsky.social . It came out yesterday, and I'm so pleased the editor @kellyesparza.bsky.social felt it was a good match for the issue. Congrats to all the other writers, too ๐๐๐

First issue of 2026 is out! Go read this amazing issue that features #disabled, #chronicallyill, #neurodivergent, and #mentalhealth stories and art!
Taking a break from writing the next novel looks like:
writing short stories, flash fiction, microfiction, poetry, and essays right and left and submitting to lit mags๐
so basically, I never actually stop writing.

It depends on the list๐ I'm on the cutoff, so some say I'm millennial; others say I'm Gen Z haha!
