Hell yes! Clear and unapologetic, as always.

Hegseth, nope. Just no. Not one more dollar. Not one more bomb. Not one more excuse.

Congress needs to make it clear we won't fund unauthorized forever wars. It’s time we pass the Block the Bombs Act and hold warmongers accountable.

For those in the US, the correct position is to be anti-war and anti-imperialist.

The US does not have the right to conduct regime change to either destroy the country or install a puppet.

If US sanctions / war are constantly on the neck of the Iranian people, how can they ever achieve freedom.

Congresswoman Ramirez Condemns Trump’s Unlawful Military Action on Iran, Murder of Head of State

Congresswoman Ramirez Condemns Trump’s Unlawful Military Action on Iran, Murder of Head of State

“Many of us were clear that the violence and destabilization that Trump started in Venezuela was not going to end there. Fascists and despots start wars to remain in power and enrich themselves. Today, in the Middle East, we are seeing what two unaccountable warmongers will do with unchecked power and a lack of oversight.

Once again, the Trump Administration, this time in coordination with Netanyahu’s government, perpetrated an unlawful attack against a sovereign nation and its head of state. As it was with the kidnapping of Maduro, the murder of Ali Khamenei is an unlawful action. It is a violation of U.S. and international law and dangerously undermines the rule of law, making all of us less safe. Trump's actions only bring us closer to a regional war that puts civilians and American troops at risk.

I stand with all people who yearn to be free, including Iranian protestors who have bravely demanded change. It is the action of the people that secures lasting change and enduring peace. History has shown us that peace and democracy have never been realized through strong men, United States imperialism, or unilateral military intervention. Regime change has always been the powerful's preferred pretense for advancing U.S. economic and corporate interests around the world.

Americans are tired of endless wars. Congress can't keep turning a blind eye. We can’t continue allowing a despot to consolidate power at home and abroad and put our democracy and security at risk. We have to take action. Our constituents are calling us to hold Donald Trump and every fascist, warmonger, and despot accountable. Let’s pass my Block the Bombs Act, pass a War Powers Resolution that asserts our authorities, and impeach Trump.”

@duckworth.senate.gov your DC voicemail is full, so I'll say it here - I oppose funding for DHS and their systemic violence, and I urge you to vote HELL NO on any senate bill that allocates our tax dollars to DHS. @ramirez.house.gov has the right idea - MELT ICE and dismantle DHS.

It can be hard to stand up to a bully, but it is a hell of a lot easier to today than it will be tomorrow. There are a lot of us in the US refusing to be bullied, and some international solidarity from the EU would be great.

A rejection of international law is a rejection of human rights that puts our collective safety, humanity, dignity and sovereignty at risk. Congress must intervene, reclaim Congress' war powers, and impeach Trump.

The Trump administration can keep seeking to do what it’s doing, from funding kidnappers to trying to rip our healthcare away. But, Chicago is going to keep doing what it does at its finest, which is to organize, to resist, and to come together.

Most of the power authoritarians have is freely given. We should not comply with them in advance.

Trump is far weaker than he looks. So is the GOP. We should draw them out, drain them at every opportunity, and fight for people’s wellbeing at every turn.

We have been sent here to fight for people.

A free and democratic society cannot silence comedians because the President doesn’t like what they say.

This is an attack on free speech and cannot be allowed to stand.

All elected officials need to speak up and push back on this undemocratic act.

Congresswoman Ramirez, Northwest Side Public Officials Joint Statement on the Killing of Immigrant by ICE

Congresswoman Ramirez, Northwest Side Public Officials Joint Statement on the Killing of Immigrant by ICE

“Today, our communities in Franklin Park witnessed the inevitable violence resulting from the Trump Administration’s unconstitutional, unlawful, unaccountable actions. We are outraged that, near a school, during drop-off, the Department of Homeland Security created a violent spectacle that resulted in the death of Silverio Villegas-Gonzalez. What happened today is not an isolated incident; it is the consequence of Trump's anti-immigrant agenda, ICE’s pattern of racial profiling, and their unlawful policing in our communities.

We have long warned that the militarized tactics used by DHS and the deployment of ICE agents, with no transparency or oversight, undermine the rule of law and create fear and chaos in our communities. Men in masks, arrests without valid warrants, and no certainty of due process are all tactics that strip our communities of safety and dignity and put our community in harm's way.

While the investigation is ongoing, we know that a traffic violation should never amount to a death sentence. We demand a full and thorough investigation into what happened today. DHS is not above the law. They should immediately release all body camera footage, warrants, and relevant information on this case. Our community deserves answers and accountability, not the scapegoating of our most vulnerable.

Instead of taking responsibility, DHS chose to attack local rapid response teams—community members who work every day to protect their neighbors—rather than acknowledge ICE’s dangerous and unlawful actions. That is unacceptable. We stand in solidarity with our communities, and we demand an end to unconstitutional attacks that endanger all communities, especially immigrant communities, across Illinois.

Trump's illegal action to reinstate cash bail continues his efforts to criminalize poverty, while cutting the funding for programs and initiatives that actually keep our communities safe. It's another move from Trump's dictator playbook, and we must resist.

Secretary Noem, you and your DHS and ICE agents are not welcome in #IL03, Chicago, or Illinois!

Keep your unlawful, unconstitutional fascist agenda away from our communities.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

Analysis: US strikes mark a stunning demonstration of military might and presidential power
Analysis from CNN's Stephen Collinson
President Donald Trump's attack on Iran's nuclear sites is both a stunning demonstration of US military might and unilateral presidential
power.
Other presidents chose not to take this step, in the belief that such action could ignite a
full-on war with Iran. But the Middle East has changed - Israel has dismantled many of the Iranian proxies that it would have used to fight back.
