#bbc moralmaze about education is missing out how many problems can be resolved with #universalincome

6. Trope - AGI in its core, is the trope that "we are not alone" (be it aliens or other spiritual/religious beings) and trying to answer about our place in the world and where we fit in its hierarchy.
5. The ghost in the shell - consciousness downloaded to a digital format considered AGI? only if it can keep learning by trial and error AND it shares human values (fears, motivation), otherwise I don't think it would differ from the AI we have today.
4. Soul - I think we are more likely to prove humans are biological machine before we prove it's possible to implement souls in machines
2. Dark forest theory - why should an AGI, lurking somewhere in the internet, expose itself?
3. Responsibility - can we trust AGI with responsibility? can we "punish" it if it fails?
"Do you believe AGI we will reach AGI in 10 years?"
my arguments for "strongly disagree":
1. Does intelligence equates rights? if we prove pigs are intelligent, will this change the way we treat them? how will AGI - a non-human intelligent - change things?
#bbc #moralmaze suggests diverting money from space exploration towards social justice, reminding me the money brexit diverted from the EU to the NHS. A better moral question would be - why does it sound more feasible to terraform mars vs tackling climate change
Facts are beads of valid objective information; “Truth” is a subjective subset of facts that forms a narrative. But if the story contains lies that factually don’t match reality then it’s no longer “Truth”. It’s as simple as that. #MoralMaze
You suggested implanted tracking chips, aren’t you concerned about power-abuse? How can we prevent ppl of authority from using it for their personal gain?
I’m not sure if I can dm you (or maybe I just can’t find the dm button)
Clearly you’re doing something right

Thank you for being on the right side of history
“I think it's worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights. That is a prudent deal. It is rational.” -Charlie K.
260+ kids were killed in gun violence between 2015-2025 May they rest in peace
It doesn’t matter whether they’re serving the mob with the forks or exploiting it for their own agenda, in either case they simply can’t serve the factual unbiased truth.
Easier said in hindsight but moral maze failed to ask if it’s commercially viable for a newspaper to write that “hey, illegal immigration isn’t actually a big deal” or “hey, science proves that immigration is actually a good thing”
Ppl don’t like hearing that their fear is fabricated
Don’t try dancing! It’s super addictive and very quickly it will consume all your free time!
Just finished part 1 (sorry, I’m super slow reader), looking forward to seeing how it resolves. Would love to talk to you about it if you have the time!
Imagine topping up your browser and some web services will charge you to pass their #paywall. The internet would have look very different if big corp weren’t pushing to give things for free just to crush the competitions. This is unhealthy #capitalism.
An apartment complex. A headline reads: "Did Switzerland Solve The Housing Crisis?"
The way that housing co-ops work in Switzerland may seem foreign to many. But the central idea is simple: What if homeownership had no profit motive and no capital gains? Advocates say their model could reshape how the world thinks about affordable housing. www.nytimes.com/2025/08/26/r...
“Classical” music is actually music created or inspired by a very geo-specific, specific era.
re: the new #MacOs 26 being fully customizable - nobody is going to do that. nobody really wants translucent icons beyond the initial hype. "Fully customizable" translates to designers being lazy to create a beautiful product.
Think this is the most nsfw you ever had
Avasarala: War doesn’t end on the battlefield. It ends at the negotiating table, or it doesn’t end at all.
what does the exponential growth of AI-generated code tells about percentage of code being reviewed?
As a SW engineer, would you agree for a role of 100% code-reviewer, never writing your own code?
