What are we thinking then? Massive, massive scrap right to the end of the season for 5th place, only for Villa to chuck the Europa League final? #thefootball

He's definitely noticed, but until he points it out you're officially in charge of hanging wallpaper.
He'll keep quiet forever.
Today I learned that HMOs in Germany are called Wohngemeinschaft <giggles>
When I was partial-RTOd at the beginning of last year, it was sold on the benefits of "informal networking" given they know none of us are co-located in our teams.
Massive benefit, when you're the longest serving employee in the building, so everyone asks you their "how do i get this done?" Qs.
Edit: Leyton Midland Road station.
With East London Brewing Co seemingly closed ๐ซฃ that ends this weekend's roving report.
Next up: 40ft brewery, a newish Blackhorse resident. Complete with angry dog du sosarj.
And... Morecambe are down. An extraordinary roll call of rubes, scammers, cowards, arse-coverers and incompetents have conspired to relegate this fine club three times in four years.
Whether it can even survive in its current state must now be in doubt.
Another slow handclap for self-regulation.
Pizza was worth the wait
Pretty Decent Beer Co, not new to Blackhorse, but a good pizza stop. Heaving. And I feel old.
This is my happy place, though. Could stay here all night.
First of which is a new (second) home FOR Hackney Church. Ngl I walked past this twice (it's literally next to a car workshop and had a coming soon sign). Where else can you find a pulpit and hymn list inside a basic 21st century industrial unit.
Onwards to Blackhorse Road, home of London's second, and undoubtedly more growing, beer mile. There are no less than three new taps opened here since this time last year. Compared with Bermondsey, which is down one.
... And yet it's taken until 5pm to get here. More board games and a definite family vibe going on. Bright and airy thanks to the big glass frontage. (Cue image of my beer from the darkest corner inhabited only by solo drinkers)
Brisk walk east, through an unexpected hail shower, and we find Gravity Well. Another railway arch ๐ right under Leytonstone Midland Road Station, potentially more of which later. This was a must do from last time when I discovered how accessible it was to/from Blackhorse Road...
First two taps I tried (both sours) went off mid pour. No fault, it happens, and they upgraded me to a full pint of something else, which is nice. But it does mean the first unbranded generic pint glass of the weekend.
Another two trains and a short walk along Lea Bridge Road brings us to Blondies Brewery. Some sort of converted engineering yard I guess? Completely out of place, but doing a cracking trade (and a great array of food)
Majority their own wears.
Yes, they do flights, but they come in fives ๐ซฃ
Hackney Wick. Largely a building and graffiti site, it appears. Tucked away is Howling Hops who serve all their beers straight from the tank. Definitely industrial inside, but the beer is great.
Found an open Brewdog. Rude not to have one here before heading out of the centre.
Parkrun interlude. Normal service resumed later today.

In another railway arch right next to Peckham Rye station (obvs) this has much more of an "and friends" feel with several guests from London indies and further afield. Brewery was bought out of admin in 2023.
Quick loop back on the Victoria, Northern and Windrush lines to Peckham Rye and the final destination tonight. Brick Brewery. No longer truly independent since admin in 2023 but still alive.
Is there anything to do when presented with a 14.6% Dessert Ale self-described as their craziest beer, other than suck it up?
There's nothing to say about that tap list that isn't a swear. There just isn't the capacity. Not with one more stop down the line.
Which brings us to London Beer Lab tap room and Nano Brewery. Just about railway arch, without the arch. Outstanding range of beers (29 on tap. 30th tap empty. Outrageous.) Some decent tshirt merch (I'm in peak merch buying territory now)
Wandsworth Road - Clapham High Street - Clapham North - Stockwell - Brixton. 18 minutes. Have that tfl.
The tfl go app offers me nothing better than a Boris bike or a 32 minute walk to the next venue. Obviously I'm ruling the former out, and the latter is not popular given I've no idea where I am, so I guess I'm inventing my own public transport route.
Inside it's clean, spacious, and again focusing on their own stuff. (I've never had any Distortion up north so this is a good test) God tier snacks, board games, and a pub dog that eluded photos.
10 minute walk through what can only be described as South London light industry finds Distortion Brewing and the first railway arch of the weekend. Love a railway arch.
But inside it's genuine. Sensible number of taps, with their own stuff and a couple of collabs. Dart board, board games, unintrusive music. Tasting paddles (that, as normal, I didn't spot until I'd ordered). What's not to like.
