I guess X is appropriate because that's when it became dead to me.

Canada Post is a public service that costs money to operate. It shouldn't be framed as a business designed to make profits.

I remember growing up you could rent both VHS tapes and the player from Sobey’s.

FYI: the best selling vehicle in Canada in 2025 was the F-series of trucks - they're not niche vehicles.

You've never been to Newfoundland. Every other house around the bay has a big pickup truck they drive to the airport to work in Alberta, not haul things. :P
My comment wasn't about one being a better mode of transportation than the other - it was about some people's attitudes to the owners of each.

Tons of bikes. Specalized, Cannondale, Trek, Marin... Yes, they're a much higher quality than the $300 "Canadian Tire special" but they're not really luxury bicycles. For that you can start looking at Thorn or Pinarello.

Jesus Murphy... I really hope if someone bought that truck that they absolutely need it for hauling shit and not for aesthetics or status. And if it's the latter, they better not complain about the price of eggs.

I honestly just estimated the purchase price of an F-150 and Googled the size of the tank. 87 litre tank * $1.80/l for gas... $156. Currently costs me about $60 to fill up my own car (CX-3) from about a quarter tank and that'll keep me going for two weeks.

Here in Newfoundland you also need a $25k ATV/side-by-side to really achieve working class status. :P

The most frustrating part of my job as a web designer/developer at a small agency isn't design or UX or AI... it's trying to get the correct log in details for the client's domain registration. No one seems to know who they pay for their domain or how they log in. *sigh*

I will always find it confusing that some people think a person riding a $2000 bike to commute is a privileged elitist but the guy in the $80k truck that costs $150 to fill is the working class average joe.

I'm just a woman who got tired of waiting on a man... so I bought a putty knife and spackled the screw holes in the wall myself. #StrongIndependentWoman

Do people really like matcha that much or is everyone drinking because it’s trendy? Had a matcha ice cream in Japan…tasted vaguely of grass. 🍵

People want to trust AI will all kinds of big decisions but I just had to ask it 4 times to tell me correctly how many characters were in a text string.

I really need to hear from her why. Why did she cross? Is she hoping to change the party or will she vote party lines on the stuff we believe in?

We're being battered with more information about the world (the vast majority of world events we can't influence or change) than we ever were. It's no surprise that the state of our collective mental health has reached new lows causing us to seek out support. The addictive devices we own don't help.

Roses are red,
Violets are purple,
It’s may not be perfect,
But you can rhyme it with Urkel.

I was actually at the National Palace Museum in Taipei this past fall and was disappointed that the jade cabbage was temporarily not on display. I did, however, get to see the Meat-Shaped Stone.

Buy a bicycle and stockpile beans and rice? I really don't know.

I'd love to see Canada Post expand services for rural towns. They're already the last mile delivery for places like Amazon but it would be helpful if they could also provide simple banking services where the big banks have abandoned rural towns. They already provide some money services.

One of my least favourite parts of web design is trying to track down access information for a client's domain name. It's always such a hassle between 2FA or them just not knowing where they registered it.

It’s a bit wild to me that you can be an F1 driver without a driver’s license. Racing at 300km/h? Sure. Drive a sedan to get groceries? Nope. Since the racing pipeline starts with kids & go carts I kind of can see how it could happen.

It all depends on your group and the personalities within of course, but we had fun with laser tag one Christmas. Mildly anxiety inducing for me but still fun.

With the cost of ferry fuel, airline fuel, and car fuel potentially about to go way up, it feels like a bad time to live on an island. 😬

Just watched the speed round of an episode of Canadian Family Feud and one of the questions was "Name a country in Europe known for its architecture" and the two people answered "Egypt" and "Paris". 🤦‍♂️

I think they should hand out “I Survived Costco on a Saturday” stickers when they check your receipt. Anyway, $300 later I have cat litter and a hot dog…and a few other things.

Asking for the ref at the hockey game here - are you allowed to grab the stick of an opposing player and yank it out of their hands?
