That's very interesting. It certainly makes sense. Nice piece of detective work on the SDRs. They hadn't been doing much from there for SA in quite a while. But, they're in business and are probably more than happy to sell time. Thanks for the update and the article.

Baseball media: if you do not loudly report on this I do not want to hear a goddamn thing from you about Jackie Robinson on April 15.

Korea wouldn't do that well here at that time. It was a very good signal here in FL. Perhaps one of the shortwave station brokers? I'm pretty sure Vatican is direct, like you so, it was stronger for the Spanish segment, ie a beam change.

11880 KBS World. The Spanish program formerly from Greenville tonight. Very good signal here in Florida. Since reliable reporting has Greenville out of commission where is this from? One of the stations that broker shortwave - like WWCR, WRMI? Baffling! Thanks tip from John Jurasek.

Vatican Radio was heard on 7305 tonight, 0100 with Portuguese, 0130 with Spanish. Signal strength improved going into the Spanish segment, so that means a beam switch is likely. I'll bet direct from CVA - Vatican City. Thanks Jose Xavier, Brazil for initial tip.

Vatican Radio popped up on 7305 tonight in Portuguese at 0100, Spanish 0130. From here in Florida I speculate that it might be direct. KBS in Spanish at the same time on 11880, I have no idea from where, but it was very good. Doubt G'ville based on reports. Baffling.

I really like the radio essay on your website. It doesn't seem to be a given nowadays for most people. Like you say it's essential. Ditto NOAA weather. Ditto shortwave. Ditto the tech license. The more tools, the better. Well done, Audrey.

Getting close. Voltages check out healthy, reception and sound quality is good, controls are cleaned and operating properly. All that remains is to hook it up to my scope and verify alignment, then it goes back in its cabinet.

a fuzzy little black and brown pup in a teal harness poses on a sidewalk mid-prance. his front left leg is lifted like he’s about to frolic your way, and his fluffy tail is up proudly. he has a very young-looking face, and he’s pretty small, so he definitely gives off puppy vibes.

This is Ziggy. He is a senior dog who is often mistaken for a puppy. Will drop his skincare routine if you drop part of your sandwich. 14/10 #SeniorPupSaturday

This is a photo of the balloon in the Florida Keys from years ago. It's located a bit more than 20 miles up US 1 from Key West, on the Gulf side. It went into use in the early 70s - this photo is dated 1974. The locals nicknamed it Fat Albert.
