The faculty who say we should use AI to grade/give feedback because it's a way for us to "reclaim our time."

Line in the sand.

It isn't our time. It's theirs. If you have such little respect for your students and their time, quit.

Disrespectfully, the rest of us.

PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD!!

The University of Texas-Austin is beginning a process to eliminate the Black Studies, Latino Studies, and Gender Studies departments in the College of Liberal Arts. This is a grave threat to the educational liberty of students, faculty, staff, and the people of Texas. 1/

My home of Missoula just voted to establish the pride flag as an official government flag of the city, thereby circumventing the state's asinine pride flag ban. 🏳️‍🌈

Missoula is once again showing how to fight back against policies that seek to erase the LGBTQ community.

Eating disorder research defunded despite MAHA focus on chronic conditions Experts on eating disorders like anorexia worry that research funding cuts mean patients won't get the care they need.

Eating disorders are among the deadliest mental health conditions & they often become chronic.

Yet Trump’s HHS is cutting eating disorder research & the MAHA report doesn’t mention them.

This isn’t just suppressing science - it’s a decision that will cost lives.

Montana's anti-trans bathroom ban is BLOCKED by the courts.

The judge finds that the ban was "motivated by animus" and that it showed no evidence that it protects safety and privacy.

1/x My NIH grant that would collect data to help *prevent suicidal thoughts and behaviors* among LGBTQ+ people was terminated today, along with many other LGBTQ+ focused grants. These terminations make no sense scientifically. Here's why:

I know not everyone can keep up with all the grant terminations, but it’s important to know what we’re losing so I’ll try to compile them here.

‘There’s hope’: Republicans break ranks to block anti-trans bills in Montana YouTube video by MSNBC

Thank you @chrislhayes.bsky.social for covering what's going on here in Montana.

Since picking up 10 seats in November, MT Dems have made incredible policy progress in the House. And the relationships we've built across the aisle have brought our colleagues along with us. 💪

I was happy to #standupforscience2025 yesterday. And of course, I have been thinking about things I didn't have a chance to say.

Like because of the chaos at NIH (and the freezing of funding), how my team has been waiting for NOAs for two non-competing renewals since mid-January.

Musk, Trump Establish New Era of Kleptocracy in America A third dispatch comparing how the US media would cover this moment if it was happening overseas

American institutions—from the media to Congress—continue to underreact to the unraveling of our democracy. Overseas our media would not hesitate to call what we’re living through a full-blown autocratic coup. Here's my attempt at the story they should write: www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/musk-trump...

Occasional reminder that there’s no, “it’s too late, its over” for anthropogenic climate change. Every molecule of CO2 that doesn’t go into the atmosphere makes a difference. Preventing 0.1 degree of warming makes a difference. Every bit of climate resilience we build together makes a difference.
