This is an amazing and, in my experience, almost entirely unappreciated benefit of electric vehicles that have vehicle-to-load or -home capabilities. (Most have V2L but few have V2H today.) EV companies should cultivate this capability and hit it much harder in their advertising.

Add Pennsylvania to the list of states with a credible accounting of how disastrous dedication to market fundamentalism has been.

Are Wood Pellets Worth Billions In Subsidies? Drax Faces A Reckoning Policymakers are rethinking biomass as new research shows wood pellets may increase carbon emissions rather than reduce them. The focus is now on subsidies.

“Adding wood pellets to the combustion process was well-intentioned—to clean coal [as] the leading method of electricity generation. [Changes since then:] sharp drop in wind & solar prices, new studies showing that the pellets did not fulfill their promises.” #biomass

She lost her school to a wildfire. What she saved was more important. When the Eaton Fire destroyed Pasadena Rosebud Academy, its executive director focused on keeping her students engaged and her community intact, even without a campus.

One thing we are focusing on @multisolving.bsky.social these days are Seeds for the Future, examples of people/ communities meeting destabilization by building life sustaining futures. More soon about the project, but for now, this strikes me as an example. 19thnews.org/2026/01/eato...

Anyone on here live in Brooklyn and participate in Con Ed's "Smart usage partner" program? (basically a demand response program)? Curious which partner you went with and about your experience!
