Possibly, Owen. I reckon he wanted one more Champions League trophy. They were the best team in the competition last season but somehow lost to Madrid on pens. They would’ve then surely gone on to win it. Perhaps he wanted to correct that this season. I doubt he will now.

Very giddy. He’s got another 18 months of development before the World Cup. We’re on our way.

Guardiola is one of the greatest men in the history of football but he should’ve left last summer and probably taken the England job. I can’t imagine he’ll stay at Manchester City beyond this summer. Surely another manager has to be in place for the full and proper rebuild.
