So true. Of course SPLC has a long history of hitting pretty hard and I am so hoping that happens here.
But it can be all-consuming to fend off the U.S. Gov't as too many have found out.

When you’ve lost @johnqbarrett.bsky.social …
Must read @adamliptak.bsky.social @jodikantor.bsky.social on birth of SCOTUS modern shadow docket. Though the real birth at some level was insistence that with a broken Congress, presidents must work around it. We have seen where that takes us.

This is a super interesting and important take. Concerns about a standing army bar the way we are funding the military.
Because part of that is the ability of the Administration to get access to our data and use it in deeply troubling ways. So it is an important check.
This is remarkable - only a 10 day extension on the Section 702 surveillance program. Maybe, finally, some change is in sight. One need not undo all of 702; there is consensus on its value. It needs to eliminate warrantless spying on U.S. persons.

Great. But T-R was doing this with our personal date long before ICE and where is the concern about that? The ICE relationship is deeply troubling but so is T-R marketing in everyone's personal data.

This is how Bruce Springsteen opened his concert in Los Angeles last night. 🔥🔥

You may win. But Rotterdam.
I'm sorry. This may be reality but given only passing familiarity with the Constitution, and passing historical knowledge, this is just insane. Have we learned nothing? Hello: earth to Congress!

PS Same! (It's how books get written.)
And why not? Good morning!
I"ve always wondered. The roberta's frozen is good? love the real stuff but far away
This is really good.
I keep wondering if anyone remembers the Marine barracks in Beirut. American troops now being recklessly thrust into harm’s way.
I got confused for a moment and thought this was part of the @anthonymkreis.bsky.social pizza thread
The extension of the 702 surveillance program is getting too little attention at a time when we should all be focused on giving the Executive Branch access to personal data and communications.

Exactly. The rankings determine how people make the "both" decisions.
This is exactly right, difficult, and necessary. I have read one con theory paper after another about how in the face of congressional stasis we need workarounds. Well, you got them! How do you like them? The job has always been forcing Congress to fix itself and act like a legislative body.
Honestly, i can't really get my head around being at war with Iran and relaxing sanctions on Iranian oil. I can't understand it as anything other than a breathtaking failure of thinking through this from the start.
It's on the Aspen website but I'll do more when the 3d edition is available - as it will be in time for August reading. Thank you Sarah!!
John Goldberg @mariaponomarenko.bsky.social and I have a book full of this advice. #openbook and a 3d edition coming this summer
Meanwhile all the good stuff is in the bottom half.
And they deserve it. All our institutions have failed except lower courts and the people of the twin cities (and their like across this country) braving the storm with whistles in hand. Good on you. This was the right awardee
it works!
If you'll forgive some self-promotion, @mariaponomarenko.bsky.social has joined me and John Goldberg on our exam-taking text Open Book and this is one of the points we stress at length. You are so right. Law students just think they need to get hand on briefs and outlines Not so. Make them!
Awesome cover (and of course what is inside!)
oops i forgot book 1. and i bet it was LESS time than between my two books :)
