Joel Mokyr invited me to present my JMP at an econ workshop when I was still a grad student (the only grad student among presenters). I was terrified. Spotting me lost at dinner, he came over to discuss my work with genuine curiosity. That early encouragement meant a lot. Glad to see him honored.

Can’t believe I am missing it by just a day. Gotta be there next year. Have a wonderful workshop!
Excited that my paper “Choosing Sides: The Price for Battlefield Loyalty under Autocracy” has been conditionally accepted at Comparative Political Studies. Since everything is backwards nowadays, I decided to publish the final paper of my dissertation first.
Huge congrats!
Reg tables for papers; coef plots for presentations (with back up slides for corresponding tables).
Congratulations, Chagai! This is great news!
Guilty as charged for uploading documents rather than copy pasting. It is just easier to upload. :)
I can email you.
Much-awaited book from my favorite scholar and friend! It will be a perfect addition for my new syllabus on ethnic politics.

Excited to share that I will be joining the Harvard Kennedy School this summer as an Assistant Professor. I will miss my wonderful colleagues & amazing department at Vanderbilt. I am grateful for my family, friends, dissertation committee & the academic community for their support.

Grazie mille, Giacomo!
So happy to see our paper on repression and combat motivation (w/ Arturas Rozenss & Yuri Zhukov) forthcoming in American Economic Journal: AE. This was one of my favorite long-term projects to work on, and I could not have asked for a better team of co-authors.

Thank you so much, Scott! Very honored!
May I request the same?
