i'm from vietnam, which is rather hard to get to and legally stay in unless one has a very solid wealth base

as far as the income requirements go? it definitely isn't *easy* but everywhere has such hard rules

mexico definitely is gonna involve a lot of incessant bureaucracy but as far as i can tell it at least doesn't require extremely steep income and/or vocational prospects the way somewhere like vietnam seems to for legal residence/citizenship

it's *possible* it's just that it's a very costly process and one that takes like 2-4+ years of constant uncertainty and plenty of opportunities for imbroglio or arbitrary failure

oh i don't think it's *lax lax* it's just better than almost everywhere else i've seen that i'd consider. all of those, as much bureaucracy as i know it entails, is so much better than 2/3rds of the countries i've looked at

how hard was residency for you (or equivalent). i know that the bureaucracy for citizenship (even with my ability to claim it) is hellish so i would assume similar for that

i must admit some pessimism when it comes to their ability to weather the coming 15 years (even though they've done far better of a job under the circumstances than most countries in a comparable situation would) but definitely distinctly good to know if nothing else

does anybody have anything to say about the feasibility or options available when it comes to moving to mexico. or anywhere with comparably lax immigration standards but mexico is the one i have the most familiarity, fondness and friends in compared to all the other options i can think of
