Exactly this. Why can some people not understand? You have a right to due process for a crime but there is no right to be an elected leader.

My heart aches so much for you. This success IS yours and I am so sorry you can’t rightfully celebrate it. I will raise a glass and toast you and all the others who should be at the center of this achievement and aren‘t. Our country sucks at the moment.

I have prioritized teaching my kids how to say No, when to walk away and to say “I’m here to help if you need it” instead of assuming their help is wanted. Basic kitchen skills plus one show-stopper dish for dinner parties. Basic manners. How to write a letter to their Senator or representative.

That book looks interesting. I know a significant number of people who did 2 years at community college & transferred to a top tier school (UCLA, Berkeley, BU). Much less stressful, much less expensive and a pretty easy strategy to implement compared to 10 years of expensive travel teams.

Exactly. I have 4 kids who play multiple sports in $10 park leagues. Get to try different things, learn new skills, make friends, learn to be a good sport/teammate/member of our community and have fun. I’m willing to bet not being pressured will help them love physical activity & stick with it.

He sold his music to Sony, whom he still records with. While they get the profits from the playing of those songs, it would be unwise from a business and branding perspective to not allow him to decide how that music is used commercially. Was probably even written into the sale contract.

A good teacher would have leveraged this to discuss first amendment rights, congratulate the student for using theirs appropriately and encouraged the rest of the class to think about what they feel is worth protesting.
