The criminal files on Cambria County chiropractors Victor Rizzo and son Michael Rizzo don't lack for the unusual. A dozen years ago, the elder Riz-zo was sentenced to 27 months in federal prison for trying to get a pair of silencers and $100,000 for the white supremacist Posse Comita-tus. Two years ago, the younger Rizzo pleaded guilty to simple assault and disorderly conduct for twice attacking a suburban Johnstown chiro-practor. Now, a year and a week after a $400,000 fire consumed Victor Riz-zo's spacious home and a two-story garage, state police at Ebensburg have charged Michael Rizzo, 35, with four counts of arson. The charges, filed Friday by state police Fire Marshal William Ray, say the fire might have been "It was a beautiful estate," Scott Campbell, deputy fire chief with the nearby Patton Volunteer Fire Com-pany, said yesterday. I would read the heck out of a book or article that explained why a disproportionate number of American fascists have been chiropractors. No shade on that entire category of practitioners, but it's definitely a theme that has emerged in my research on the US far right. Article is from 2001.

The international airport in Las Vegas had to open a pantry to help their workers during the shutdown. TSA workers are struggling to make ends meet because of a manufactured scarcity crisis. This is so pathetic. The people who keep the United States running are being cheated.
It hasn't gotten enough attention that Trump, Homan, and Duffy have all confirmed there's a plan in the works to have armed ICE agents at airports *tomorrow.* Words fail to describe how stupid this is. Let's hope more people aren't disappeared or killed.
Two things are likely inevitable: (1) The waiting times and lines in airports will get longer -- much longer, and (2) Someone will be shot by an airport-based ICE agent. I pray that doesn't happen, but that's what Trump and Homan want (not to mention those they hire to take on these roles).
