If they're intending to "reboot" the Ultimate Universe once again, who knows ...

Yeah, but it was kinda numb to me. I prefered that USM ended with Hickman's title and not whatever Camp was thinking about doing with the character ...
Which is ... nothing out of the ordinary, as I previously mentioned.
This is one of those moments, where they would rather lie/invalidate/dismiss the truth to the readers, just so they won't admit that they made a mistake. But all they manage to do is clowning around ...
Dunno about rewriting, but there's definitely lack of communication between Ewing and Kelly, regarding "continuity. The example is how at the beginning of the crossover Kelly wrote MJ about "it was her choice for bonding with the symbiote", when that wasn't the case at all.
Despite this coming from DC, the "we know you hate this character" joke leaves a bad taste, thank to being overused by Marvel in the first place. People are most likely tired of his and just want him gone ...
I personally don't see anything out of the ordinary ...
It's mostly bad weeks, when it cones to the main Spidey title ...
So Kelly's "shipping Peter and MJ together" really is nothing more than a political-esque move from him ...
You know, perhaps Marvel publishing a book for 2 years that was sold on Peter and MJ being together causing it to be the #1 book in the country, but deciding to hook up MJ and Flash Thompson for some reason has *something* to do with why their books aren't selling.
Amazing Spider-Man Vol 6 #1 Cover A by John Romita Jr Description: Spider-Man swinging through the city as he shoots a web towards the reader, with the sound effect "TWHIP" beside it
Venom #258 Cover A by Carlos Gomez Description: Peter and Mary Jane strolling across a bridge in what looks like Central Park as Spider-Man and Venom fight in the sky in a flashback
Wells' ASM run began in April 2022. Venom #258, Peter and MJ's first actual real conversation since then, is coming out in 3 months, over 4 YEARS later. And that's not considering ASM is bi-monthly, so it's actually been 8 YEARS worth of comics since then plus Jackpot & Black Cat, Venom, etc. WTF ๐ญ
That or they want people to get interested by the things they allow (or order) to be released, which are the things *they* are interested in ...
Only his post got deleted - he's still not banned.
I think at this point it's pretty clear that Tom Brevoort, CB Cebulski and Nick Lowe need to be relieved of their positions and replaced with new personnel at Marvel.
They are completely incapable of understanding what the audience wants right now.
Unless they want to make this an on-going, but I have my doubts ...
Even less likely to have later on having Miles telling Peter about his trip to the 6160 universe and meeting Peter's "married to MJ with kids" counterpart, while searching for his lost baby-sister ...
JFC, what is Slott's deal? Who can survive on gratitue alone, while you need money for food & water, clothing and a roof under your head or meidicne if you don't feel well? Like, those are *basic necessities* ...
I believe he was briefly in that Unlimited app Spider-Man title, before Aukerman came. Other than that, nope.
Yeah, all those stupid creators whining about how they're not getting paid properly for work. They should just be happy for the credit.
What does Peter David have to be upset about?
Sorry, what *did* he have to be upset about?
Since- y'know- he can't be reached for comment anymore...
OMG, you're right - the video game came in 2010 (and Slott was writing the story together with Mark Hoffmeier and Daniel Strange) while Spider-Verse came out in 2014.
I read an article from Screen Rant, that Slott took inspiration from that story arc. Even John Semper Jr. (the producer and head writer of S-M TAS) made a statement about that back then.
Could it be possible that Slott though that OMD was some sort of a "reboot" and that was his ticket to "redfine" was Spider-Man is about? It's sounds crazy, since the Editorial's explanation for Mephisto's deal was "everything between 1987 and 2007 happened, except Peter and MJ never got married".
I think that villian was the only worth memorable thing in Slott's 10year run. Let's face it: -Spider-Verse was heavily inspired from that one story arc from the '94 animated series
- Superior Spider-Man was just "Spider-Man who wasn't Peter Parker" and instead of a loser, we got a creep pervy prick
Yeah, I don't really get that whole "I like specific aspects of Spider-Man, while not giving a damn about everything else". Fine, they can have their preferences, but that doesn't really give them the right to declare that this has to be "the standard" just because they said so ...
Remembering the fervor around Dan Slott during the heyday of his run, I remember a lot of the press around him continually saying "You can tell he's a huge Spider-Man fan and he's having the time of his life."
Yet over half a decade from his last ASM run, no one seems to talk about him.

So in other news, I got a drawing tablet.
Nice ...
We're talking about an office and Editorial, who are behaving in such an *obsessive* way towards maintaining this ridiculous "Spider-Man to remain forever young, single and a perpetual underdog loveable loser" concept, that they would rather ruin the character, than to admit that they were wrong.
