Look how beautiful you look as you read.
Look how peaceful you look
as you let an entire continent colonize you;
as you lay the book down on the nightstand,
as if returning to the world
something that belongs to it—
as you stand, dazzled by the hills
as though the book, too,
has returned to the world
something that belongs to it.

ICE Is Expanding Across the US at Breakneck Speed. Here’s Where It’s Going Next ICE plans to lease offices throughout the US as part of a secret, months-long expansion campaign. WIRED is publishing dozens of these locations.

NEW: ICE has a plan to lease offices across the US as part of a secret, months-long expansion campaign.

Today, @wired.com is publishing dozens of those locations. Many are near schools, medical offices, and places of worship.

Vital work from @leahfeiger.bsky.social that I'm proud to publish.

Or to take arms against a sea of troubles
And by opposing end them.

Foundational Texts: Jenny Holzer's Truisms | dansinker.com

Love this from @dansinker.com about @jennyholzer.bsky.social "For me, 14 and still trying to figure out how the walk in the world—motivated by anger and art in equal measure—seeing those LED displays scrolling through Truisms was a revelation. Art could be just words." dansinker.com/posts/2026-0...

Lorne, by Paul Ford The worst thing about podcasts.

> Lorne stories are...anecdotes about the Comedy HR department. *Lornepilled, no one can see this and no one stops it.* There needs to be AI involved. If Apple can hear “Siri” they can hear “Lorne.” Then the iPhone simply explodes.

i'm in the david byrne camp -- music is a socially constructed phenomenon, and is highly dependent on the context in which it's written, performed, heard, distributed... it definitely affects cognition, but is entwined in its social fabric. i have no idea how that impacts your last question, though.

Podcasters need guests. To build an audience they chase boldface names. Access depends on avoiding tough questions. Press them with unflattering ones and you get a reputation. No surprise we now have podcasters acting as mouthpieces for tech companies. The “interview” becomes a promotional vehicle. The host lobs softballs and nods along with whatever narrative the guest is spinning. Both lapse into MBA-speak. It’s an Oscar-worthy performance. The line between journalism and marketing blurs.

What do you mean "create a code of conduct" there already IS a code of conduct that prohibits murdering people who are not using violent force. It is called the US Constitution.

If that's not binding ICE, neither will your agreement.

Sure, Google, add a “beautify this” button to slides (lololol) but don’t allow a workspace to default new presentations to a standard theme. Good choice.
