I am 6k into the writing about Death Note The Musical

Mainly the 2017 live action that was ✨️not good✨️. Because the musical is a much better representation with not even half the budget and you are limited what you can do on stage yet the stage version truely stands about the 2017 film
I've written 4019 words so far on my Death Note musical piece. Currently only just hit the actual musical part. I've been writing about adaptions of Death Note because in order to understand how good the musical is, you need to know the plot and also some of the other adaptions
I'll also discuss one of the changes which I can't decide if it's major or minor and why I actually like the change.
So buckle in, we're going for a ride
I will discuss the lyrics in both English and Japanese version, the stage and lighting set up, and I'll refer back to the original source of the manga and anime and talk about some of the changes they made to fit the whole story (12 books and 37 20minutes episodes) into an 2.5 hour musical
With this background information I will discuss how the Death Note musical is an amazing adaption and how it did what the 2017 live-action version failed to do
Today, the threat has become true. I am currently 1.5k into writing about Death Note. Currently I have covered why I am writing it, I have covered the manga, anime and all of the live-action films. I am currently covering the 2017 netflix adaption
I would like to also add in, I have not seen it live, so I cannot talk about the translations in terms of the actual dialogue but only the songs.
My rant was actually well received, people were interested, and I kept threatening to write it down
At one point, while off sick from work, I went into a 3 hour rant about the Death Note musical, with videos of the scenes and the differences between the English and Japanese translations of the songs
Here's some background. I am 28. I was an emo kid in 2007-2012, which was also the time Death Note was really popular in the UK within the Emo subculture.
So finding the musical was like something just clicked and I was obsessed again
I found the 2015 proshoot on youtube, and switched between the purely Japanese version and the one with the English concept album dubbed over some of the songs
Since then, to the absolute joy to those who watch my Instagram stories, I have gone on many rants about how good the musical is
After watching it the first time my brain decided that this is the one thing I will focus on. Which lead to me watching it around 60+ times in a month. My record was 3 times in a day.
Buckle in we're going for a ride.
In March 2024 I was really depressed and unfortunately when I'm that depressed my brain picks 1 thing to focus on and only that, for me I did the Hazbin Hotel to Death Note The Musical timeline.
Wooo!! I'll be Pokey on the Saturday and The Narrator on the Sunday!!
I really need to find more #Starkid fans on here and in general, but especially if you're going to London in April for ICBIBALLTAY
Watching the Starkid musicals to hunt for quotes to make bracelets for #ICBIBALLTAY in April. Currently on 1446, I obviously won't make all of them but what slowed me down when making bracelets for Innit, was not having quotes ready
Starting on act 2 of Ani today
I absolutely love Storygraph!!
Hey, I'm a new account here
I'll be rambling about Starkid, crafts, musicals, cosplay, books, and honestly anything else that I vibe with
