Rantzen accused of being ‘disrespectful’ as MPs debate assisted dying bill – UK politics live About 150 changes have been made to the bill since MPs voted on it last year

I absolutely agree with Esther Rantzen’s point that MPs aren’t being honest about how religion shapes their opposition to assisted dying. This is dishonest, especially when hidden under other supposed concerns. www.theguardian.com/politics/liv...

Bid writing is TERRIBLE and STUPID in its level of waste and irrelevance. And I say this as someone who writes for a living.

'Supersize SUVs much more likely to cause fatal injury to cyclists and pedestrians' Sports utility vehicles account for more than half of new cars bought in UK

Pedestrians who are hit by SUVs are 44% more likely to be killed than if they were hit by a conventional car, new study finds. Children are 82% more likely to die when hit by an SUV than by a car. In children under 10, the risk of death was 130% higher.

Regulate vehicle size now.

Isn’t it time that illegal behaviour was treated as, well, illegal?

I think the funniest thing that happened after the Drump Tariff stupidity is how chinese factories are now unveiling how the American middle men have been taking a huge cut on your goods and persuading Americans to buy directly from China. I am not even sure what to call this...

Investigation regarding the audits of Post Office Limited by Ernst & Young LLP

UK regulator to investigate Ernst & Young 2015-18 audits of the Post Office.

Despite public evidence of failures, it did nothing. Now responding to pressure in parliament.

Why only 2015-18? Flawed accounting system resulted in false accounts & postmaster prosecutions years before.

Token inquiry?

Earnings and employment from Pay As You Earn Real Time Information, UK - Office for National Statistics Monthly estimates of payrolled employees and their pay from HM Revenue and Customs’ (HMRC’s) Pay As You Earn (PAYE) Real Time Information (RTI) data.

UK median wage, £29,628. Net pay, £24,852; barely enough to survive.

Top 1% have more wealth than 70% of the population combined. Bottom 50% less than 5%.

Can't revive economy without boosting purchasing power of the bottom 50%.

Workers need higher share of GDP. Progressive taxation.

A screenshot from The Telegraph’s website features a headline reading: “Labour benefit cuts may breach equality law, says human rights watchdog.” The subheading states: “Equality commission to consider how Liz Kendall’s £5b welfare reforms will impact disabled people.” Below the headline is a photo of Liz Kendall speaking at the dispatch box in the House of Commons. She is wearing large glasses and a dark blue suit, with a serious expression as MPs look on in the background.

NEW: The Equality and Human Right Commission is investigating Labour’s benefits cuts for potentially breaching the Equality Act. Spoiler alert: it is. I’m half way through all these PIP scoring forms and changing to needing 4 in one item is clearly discriminatory.

Amazon rainforest cut down to build highway for COP climate summit The infrastructure required to host COP30 in Belém is undermining the cause, campaigners say.

This feels like a good analogy for VAWG public policy. Supposedly it wants to keep women and girls safe, but drives roughshod over their choices and realities to get there. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

On Wednesday I urged the Government to support my amendment to the ER Bill to extend the ban on NDAs in cases of harassment to the entire workforce.

This could be the Government that ends these abuses of NDAs for good. Victims continue to be hurt day after day. Now is the time to sort this out.
