No kink shaming

Any time you can congratulate somebody on an achievement, you should go ahead and do it. It takes two seconds, costs nothing, and lets people know that they aren't completely alone in this miserable world.

I’ve got like five scholarly projects I want to work on, some longer, some shorter, some based on past work, some brand new. With the semester winding down, my brain revs up.

On a neighborhood walk I greeted a couple of kids with a simple “buenas tardes.” They appreciated my basic Spanish in their flawless English then proceeded to tell me a bunch of things they could say in Kichwa. I smiled at them like the simplistic fool that I am.
