This book was being printed when the country shut down for Covid, and I've heard from a lot of people who felt that it helped them.
It probably has something to offer in these times, too.

We get asked all the time for if we have remedios with Osha, we use that opportunity to share that it is an endangered plant and we do not use it, and then we talk to folks about some alternatives. We all have the ability to do our part in protecting these beautiful plants.

“Even a wounded world is feeding us. Even a wounded world holds us, giving us moments of wonder and joy. I choose joy over despair. Not because I have my head in the sand, but because joy is what the earth gives me daily and I must return the gift.”
–Robin Wall Kimmerer
After the early spring winds many of the trees will drop buds and leaves for collection. Last year we got called in after our neighbor fell a tree that was starting to lean over too much.
We live in the Rio Grande bosque, surrounded by cottonwood trees. These ancient giants provide such beautiful medicine to relieve aches, stiffness and body tension. When the buds are ripe with red, sticky sap then it is time to collect them!

Boil a pot of water, turn off heat. Add herbs to water. Cover and let steep for 20 minutes.
Mix in epsom salts, stir and let dissolve. Pour into to your bath water. If you desire add some oils to the bath. Sprinkle with rose petals, light your candles, say your intentions or prayers. Enjoy
Here is one of our favorite herbal baños:
2 parts evergreens (for cleansing and grounding)
1 part rosemary (for protection and release)
1 part sunflower (to let in the light)
2 parts lavender (for stress and anxiety relief)
1 yarrow (for protection and healthy boundaries)
1 cup epsom salts
A baño can be done on the full moon to help release challenging experiences you are moving through. It is important to be intentional in all steps, from preparing the herbal blends to adding the water, to picking the flowers, lighting the candles, and in setting the space.
Taking a baño, or spiritual cleansing bath, is one of our favorite things to do. A baño cleanses and rejuvenates the body, mind and spirit through the blending of water, herbs, flowers and prayer. It is an integral way we that we show love to ourselves, and to each other.
