We each make 4 or 6 servings of something. This week I'll bring in lunch for Monday and Wednesday (Tuesday we have a school fundraiser at a restaurant, so we're ordering that for lunch). She'll bring something for Thursday or Friday. So, we each make something, then trade.

Mediterranean Chicken and Orzo - The Girl on Bloor This lemony-garlic Mediterranean chicken and orzo with sundried tomatoes & spinach is cooked in one skillet for the perfect weeknight dinner.

My half of lunches for the week are done (I share lunch prep with a colleague). Tried a new recipe that was super easy and smells amazing! Hopefully it will taste as good as it smells.

We have a few books, but didn't use them to start. We did a YouTube choice board with short beginner videos & kept the group small. 4th grade started w/10 complete beginners so my principal, music teacher & I could teach the basics w/the help of kids who knew a little. I've been learning, too.

We have a 4th grader making herself a pair of shorts. I helped one 5th grader learn how to do a drop leaf stitch and a pair of 5th graders learn how to make a magic circle. And the substitute wasn't even working at our school today--she just came by for the crochet club!

Today our principal & music teacher joined 4th grade crochet club. A paraeducator taught a student how to make a granny square & a substitute teacher came in to teach a left-handed student during 5th grade crochet club. It's really become a community! #SchoolLibrary #TLSky #EduSky

When I taught kindergarten I played a guessing game that involved describing kids by their clothes (I’m looking for someone with…, adding specific descriptors to eliminate kids until one was left). That’s how I taught them specific terms for fabrics and patterns.

It’s National Pet Day & a great day for hockey! My very own Badger Bo is rested & ready for today’s NCAA hockey championship game! I have such great memories of cheering the Badgers on in person in Milwaukee when they last won 20 years ago. Hoping that will be the outcome again today. On Wisconsin!

Definitely! Most of these are ones that readers added to our running "We Need This Book" list. They know I do my best to get the books that they ask for & want to read. It helps to make reading part of the school culture. There are going to be some excited readers when they see these on the shelves!

Yes! They're super popular with readers at our school, too. Ours tend to gravitate to the graphic novel versions, so I was happy to see so many readers take out the "regular" versions of the book after the author visit.
