Let's call this policy what this is.
It's socialism. It's Leftism. And it's curing actual ills. Righting institutional wrongs.
It's not coming from someone who is infallible, or someone who is always correct.
It's coming from someone who promised to help and is trying to keep those promises.

The problem is this post-Moses trend in treating the "community" as if it's monolithic and knows more about transportation planning than the experts. We as a society can say "more transit good, road expansion bad" and ask locals to weigh in on where staircases go, not "should this even happen?"
Joe Russo, explaining why you need to rewatch a 3 hour film before Doomsday:
Congrats fellow transit sickos: we've made it.
New Yorkers reading this are shocked until they get to him being from Rockaway Park, aka one of the few parts of the city far-right enough to actually vote for Curtis Sliwa last election cycle.

The "I believe Eric Swalwell is innocent until proven guilty" people baffle me when over 20 women and counting have shared their stories of him being an irredeemable abuser. Like, my god people.
As this workshop on political violence is at The Hague, wonder if the ICC officials the US sanctioned for investigating US and Israeli war crimes and political violence will pop by.
Alert, alert: the meme has evolved.
Regardless of whether it’s all talk, when the leader of our country expresses plainly genocidal intent, everyone has to do something.
For citizens of all political stripes, it means rejecting this madness. For Congress, it means taking action to rein him in. Now.
The fact that nobody seriously believes there is an institution in this country that will check the president—that we’re all just sitting here hoping that he gets distracted and fails to follow through on his genocidal threats—is the most damning indictment of our political system I’ve seen yet.
I am here for messaging that the THREAT alone - regardless of if it's carried out or walked back - should end his presidency.
The die is already cast. You cannot wield the power that man has and say that kind of shit.
You have more in common with the people of Iran than you do with anyone in this administration, any member of the technocracy, anyone who is profiting from this war, or any billionaire. When you see Iranians forming human chains outside key infrastructure sites, you should feel a sense of kinship.
Claude’s not a human and can’t be creative. You’re weird.
It's pretty fucked up that we ended up with "you must pay thousands of dollars to a corporation to have freedom of movement" in most places.
I know a spot on Elizabeth Street where they can start.
Pritzker has really been going full YIMBY lately you love to see it
Just another reminder to get out there once more. NO KINGS today at 2pm.

Congrats on losing the gay vote with this homophobic bs. A billion things to run against him on and the best you can do is "haha he's a closeted gay hahaha"?
Faster Commuter, Lower Emissions, Equity for Queens… It all goes away with QueensWay.
If you want @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social to stand by his past support, TAKE ACTION and use the Link in Bio to tell him “NO WAY to QueensWay!!”

South Queens is in a full blown Transportation Crisis. @mayor.nyc.gov’s preliminary budget has kept $43 million in funding for the anti-transit scheme QueensWay.
As designed, QueensWay would prevent a future north-south subway in Queens from ever being built.
In a new piece early this morning from the @nytimes.com on QueensLink’s report release, @mayor.nyc.gov's office declined to comment on whether the Mayor still supports transit on the Rockaway Beach Branch.
Is @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social turning his back on Queens riders?
This really is an encapsulation of what being an American is: experiencing something needlessly cruel and profoundly stupid while propaganda you can’t turn off blares about how free and lucky you are
despite being concentrated in ameria’s
largest cities, america’s media is terminally car-brained
Also even when you bike aggressivly you can still give pedestrians WAY more space than a driver ever could.
I'm always struck by the refusal of otherwise literate adults to distinguish between annoying and dangerous when it comes to bikes. Water is wet and cyclists are less dangerous than cars for pedestrians! Not debatable!
Dati would have rolled back Hidalgo’s city-building successes while Grégoire will expand on them. This is a big win for Paris
