Looking at this image, I was struck by the bird flying over the sheep. And then it started feeling familiar to me, reminding me of something I’d looked at recently…

One of the many comics I sold far too cheaply. I'm just too bloody generous!

I'm sure it was something to do with the end of the Dark Phoenix Saga with the original ending where Jean lived & the X Men went back to basics.

I remember vaguely (or misremember) an interview with Byrne where he said at one point they were going to use the original costumes for a while in the X Men.

We got a Ceefax compatible telly in 1980 & I loved it. It felt like something so 21st Century.

As for Wolverine I always think of poor Dougray Scott who was the first person cast but ended up pulling out because MI2 was taking so long to shoot.

There were a few people in 88 going into 89 who went round the marts slagging Keaton off, even when the first pictures were released and we saw that trailer WB rushed out purely to shut people like that up. Some did but there's was a core who didn't.

I was at a Westminster mart where someone was going round getting signatures for a petition he was going to send to DC/Warners that 'everyone hated Keaton'. Saw him a few months after the film was released looking very sheepish.

I'm puzzled by the big negative reaction from a large number of people about this. Marvel have done right with the casting. Sure, the film might be crap but we don't know that yet.

It was on ITV4 last night. Hadn't seen it in some time & it still remains a fantastic film. Verhoeven and Neumeier are doing another film together which is due to start shooting soon. www.worldofreel.com/blog/2024/1/...

The Ken Russell adaptation of Lady Chatterley's Lover is on BBC4. Lots of gratuitous shots of Sean Bean's arse if you like that sort of thing.

Sad news that Paul Neary has passed away. Here's the statement from Alan Davis.

Bluesky feels like one of those 90s consoles nobody in the US had. Like you find out that in Europe everyone was playing Miracle Mike and Super Galaxynth on something called VPC (Virtual Play Computer). Like Twitter is the SNES and Bluesky is the Pendy16 by Eurotecnik Electronics Inc.

There's a book I've pre-ordered about the DC Implosion that's coming out in May. twomorrows.com/index.php?ma...
