It is true for Fedora and Arch with Firefox or chromium based browsers. I know there is some kind of OSS Implementation of some DRM, but I couldnt get any of the big streamers or YouTube *rented* movies over 480p. YouTube videos work fine. Could also be dependent on your location though

Just be aware that you can't watch Netflix/prime/rented movies on YouTube etc. In more than 480p. Because the DRM deems Linux as "unsafe" for the user or somesuch...

Normal YouTube is fine tho and if you want to watch in 4k you're probably on a tv anyways

If you don't want to game, Linux is great even for tech-unsavy end-users imo. If you do want to game, you should have AMD hardware, then it's also great.

If you want a more tablet-like experience use the GNOME window manager, if you want more windows like use KDE.

I think it's because it questions the very foundations of their beliefs about our system. The most critical they can be is "the system is run by spreadsheets , that are at least fair in their indifference" but not "the system is run by evil, hateful, petty robber barons"
