Very similar to Douglas Adams' depiction of god in the Hitchhiker's series πŸ˜ƒ

Hand written, notebooks (sometimes cards) and graph paper. My D&D game is so old the players handle recap and downtime actions on their own. I only really have to put time in on other systems we don't play as much.

Damn. I learned about 10 things I didn't know from that article.

Basidiek has a sort of "tail" that extends into the Elemental Plane of Water- could be they're related! πŸ˜€

Basidiek, the Living Sea. He's a sentient coral reef the size of New Zealand. He's friendly and curious, and loves to hear stories from the Dry People, he thinks they're funny. Unless you can breathe water, he's only accessible from a couple islands where he pokes above the surface.

Most barriers are nuisances, not hard defenses. They canalize traffic for tax inspections. Walled cities exist, but magic usually makes traditional castles overpriced, much like gunpowder changed defenses in the real world.

I remember house-ruled d&d games with str instead of levels. Lvl drain was a huge pain in the neck for spellcasters. I like the simplicity of it. I miss using actual stats; I hate that only the mod actually matters in 5e 🫀

It's not really a rock- paper- scissors kind of crowd

Oof. Yeah. If it were a more whimsical campaign, could use the "he was a doppelganger all along!" trope. Good luck!

Can you make the monk an NPC? Or a PC's sort of henchman? Or would that be too weird?

This is hilarious, because I kind of do! And then there's Dave the Alchemist, sort of the RC Cola guy...

I might need a god who just up and quits, leaves a hole in the cosmology. Be funny if the other gods scramble to claim his portfolio, only to discover it really sucks and they keep dropping it too, one after the other πŸ˜‚
