You mean we could have had rat-proof trash bins the whole time? (Asking for me, a DC resident on the rat frontline)

Coordinated to coincide with No Kings Day, London is holding its largest-ever protest against the far-right. #NoKings
Good riddance, I’ll miss you, or something in between. I’m not really sure. All I know is…it’s hard to believe it’s been ten years. May what’s coming next bring much needed healing.
I’m relieved that someone is finally doing something. I’m furious that there were and still are people who need support while people in power do nothing.
I don’t know how to feel. I’m sad it’s gone, a sort of finality that hits like I didn’t expect. I’m glad it’s gone, a weight lifted. I’m still not really ready to say goodbye. I’m ready to put this chapter behind us and have somewhere real to sit and reflect without that monster looming behind you.
Then it wasn’t. Suddenly it was bullet holes in the door we escaped from. Jagged concrete in a wall they had to breach. Haunting pictures of bodies on the floor. Faces of friends frozen in time. Suddenly it was the black box you could never really escape, the horror you could never really run from.
That building was my place. When I was convinced I wanted to be a music artist, it’s the first place I heard my debut single in public. When I wanted to do Halloween with abandon, it’s the first place I put on *the* costume. It saw birthdays & breakups, VIP & nights on a budget. Pulse was our spot.
The Advocate: Demolition underway at Pulse nightclub, site of one of the deadliest U.S. mass shootings A survivor of the 2016 Orlando, Florida massacre stood by and narrated as crews began tearing down the building.
Thank you to those who’ve reached out about this. Here’s the hard truth: I don’t really know how to feel.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, March 10, 2026 Laurel Powell | laurel.powell@hrc.org Flailing Trump Goes After Trans People In Attempt to Pass ‘SAVE’ Act On Trump threatening legislative blockade until its passage: “[he] has never been more out of touch” WASHINGTON — While the illegal war in the Middle East wages on, gas prices rise, and health care costs continue to soar, President Trump has made it clear his “No. 1 priority" is to pass the “SAVE America Act”--MAGA’s extreme anti-voting rights bill–with demands that it include anti-trans provisions. He even threatened not to sign any bill until Congress sends this legislation to his desk. In response, the following statement may be attributed to Laurel Powell, Director of Communications at the Human Rights Campaign: “Donald Trump is flailing and has never been more out of touch with what the American public wants or needs. His anti-democratic bill threatens the right to vote for millions of people who have done nothing more controversial than changing their name. Now, as gas prices rise, job losses roll in, and he prosecutes an illegal war in the Middle East, Donald Trump is trying to tack on attacks on trans people in the mistaken belief that it will make the rest of it any less rotten. As voters proved in November, they are seeing through these anti-equality attacks that do nothing to lower prices, provide health care, or protect our families. It’s giving weak and desperate.”
Outbox: Donald Trump really wants to make the so-called SAVE act happen but it's not going to happen
Texas has been run by Republicans for over 20 years and tonight is a total mess. Just mind blowingly bad.
This is what they are trying to export around the country.
By the way…Florida just canceled HIV treatment coverage for 16,000 people citing a “$120million shortfall.”
Meanwhile, Pete Hegseth got more than 2x that much money blown out of the sky (in the form of 3 fighter jets) on a Monday morning. The priorities are clear.
Florida just cut off access to HIV treatment for 16,000 people. And they’re not alone. It’s not just cruelty…it’s a deadly public health crisis in the making.
Resources for those directly impacted at the end.
This is what the right wing's toxicity looks like when it festers. Endless bills like this, spitting in the faces of people who've already paid the ultimate price, while nothing gets easier and nothing gets solved.
Our memorial space is sacred ground - not your political punching bag.
Rent is out of control, health care too, but the legislature is thirsty for a bill to defund translation of city information into Spanish, repeal HIV outreach programs for LGBTQ+ people, and let white supremacists sue cities for recognizing Jewish holidays?
Whose life is more affordable?
This bill could upend the memorial to those stolen from us, to the night our world was turned upside down, just six months after the Governor was arresting people over chalk on that same street's crosswalk.
Whose life is being made better?
Orlando weekly: Could Pulse memorial be affected by Florida's proposed crackdown on city-funded DEI? A proposal making its way through the state Legislature would prevent cities from funding any diversity, equity or inclusion initiative, with limited exceptions.
This summer is ten years. Ten years since my best friends became missing faces. Since groupchats became disconnected numbers. Since a man turned our night out for drinks into 49 funerals.
Ten years and Florida politicians keep looking for new ways to inflict pain.
Trump randomly announces he wants to abolish health insurance companies like they aren't bankrolling his entire party.
Image of John Roberts looking sad with the thinnest lips you've ever seen after Trump trashed the tariff ruling during state of the union 2026. What a fucking loser
TFW you made him king and he still doesn't love you
He sounds like he's boring himself, which is a talent.
State of the people lineup of hosts
About to join State of the People to talk about the state of OUR Union.
Might as well give him the world record at this point!
Trump lied? I’m stunned.

This week, the Site Formerly Known as Twitter was ablaze with debate over polling data on transgender rights. I still have issues with the poll itself. But what leapt out to me from the back and forth was something bigger: can we persuade in a digital age?
brandonjwolf.substack.com/p/persuasion...
We've watched the consequences of this over and over again.
A bunch of old guys in a state Capitol pass a bill they were handed from a right wing think tank. They don't care what it says or does. And within months, women are being stalked, harassed, and filmed in bathrooms. Rinse. Repeat.
Kansas Republicans force transgender bathroom restrictions into law, overriding a veto
While a wildfire threatens their state, Kansas Republicans rammed through a bill to let weirdos stalk your daughter's bathroom stall to try and collect an anti-trans bounty.
Remind me again who is obsessed?
Thanks to all who joined us on last night’s community action call.

AP Headline: US sending ICE unit to Winter Olympics for security, prompting concern and confusion in Italy
If they’re too trigger happy to handle the streets of Minneapolis, why the hell are we sending them on an Olympic field trip?
They should be asked for their papers and sent right back home.
Iran is one of 12 nations that still execute queer people.
But that’s not stopping the Trump admin from deploying ICE to endanger our community’s lives. It’s the same terror that murdered Renee, imprisoned Andry, and continues to force LGBTQ+ people to live in fear.
Do not let this go unnoticed.
It was such an honor 🤍🤍
