I work in a windowless office, and during ST in the winter the sun sets before I get off work, meaning the only daylight I see for much of the winter during the week is maybe ~10 minutes on my way in.

I’d pay any price to avoid that.

I know for the sake of people’s sleep’s alignment with the daylight cycle, ST is supposed to be better; but I’ve also read those studies and they are all based on being at a latitude around California with a shortest day of 10 hours, and they assume people people get daylight throughout the workday.

Considering Saskatchewan, Yukon, and BC are already on permanent DST it seems like it’s the move we’re going with.

I think a big part of the focus on it is that it’s a remarkably easy fix. NA Building Codes are weirdly out of step with the rest of the world on it, so there’s no technical problem to solve with it.
