she didn't exactly understand. her intentions were good. the sol hedgehog couldn't fathom a life without having fun from work.

the girl's sunshine smile basically disappeared and her languid brown doe eyes flickered down to stare at her shoes. her brows furrowed.

"it is? I didn't know -- I'm sorry, shadow," the clueless girl mumbled, ears lowering.

my legs are starting to bother me again and idk where the hornet that was in my room earlier went. kinda nervous to turn off my lights for bed because what if it gets me in the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT 😓.

charlotte somehow glanced over at charlie, placing her game down and giving him her full attention. she was /very/ aware it wasn't socially correct to yap and not let the other person talk too.

"what about you? what's your interest? you like music, right?"

charlotte didn't see this as discouragement. instead she peered over at shadow and began gesturing with her free hand while she spoke.

"i can't wait until you guys get married in the game! i showed DB and she got really quiet. . . . . i never know what /she's/ thinking."

"yup! you guys are gonna get married soon if the game will let me get that far! i've been helping you guys and . . . . and you guys seem to really like each other in the game and in real life!"

charlotte pans the controls over to the lovebirds in the game, a smile gracing her lips.

nodding and continuing to show him her screen. this seems to be a new special interest for her! animal crossing; while it will always have a special place in her heart, has been momentarily dropped in favor of this new game.

"it's super nice, right?!"

"would you like to play a video game with me?! i have my nintendo switch! it's so fun! you should play the game with me," she gushes randomly, clearly happy to see roxy and not really knowing that other oddities wanting to play games are /dangerous/.

charlotte doesn't really understand that he doesn't comprehend, so she continues gushing about the game and showing him everything. she looks very happy talking about her video game. . . maybe he'll understand if she keeps yapping.

"it's a video game! i made you and DB in my game! you guys are super in love and want to get married! isn't that great," the sol hedgehog gushes, showing him how the mii versions of shadow and db are living together and displaying affection.

my favorite mii moment was when mii anti-DB said mii metal sonic 'looked like fruity granola.'

"they have them at art museums. i really enjoy going to museums. . . it's peaceful and they have thought provoking pieces there. i also really like libraries," charlotte confessed, the motion of her hands halting.

"i'm sorry-- i'm rambling a lot."

the embarrassed wave back prompts charlotte to disappear and reappear next to roxy, but maintaining a distance so it's not awkward or scary.

"hello, friend," charlotte breaks the silence calmly, a timid little smile forming again.

cue a very timid little wave! the hedgehog seems very happy that her summoning trick is working.

"of course! my name's charlotte. . . i'm from the sol dimension. it's very nice to meet you," she replied, fingers tapping against each other.

"i really like those paintings they have. . . the old ones with the angels and cherubs and cupids. it's very beautiful," the girl mused.

". . . . . oh! i can't believe it worked! hello, there."

immediately approaching @thedarkhero.bsky.social and holding out her nintendo switch. trying to get him to look.

"shadow! lookie! lookie!"

an expression like clouds parting to reveal feeble sunshine spread across her features. the hedgehog slowly approached the matchmaker, her steps cautious and quiet.

"you're like a cupid, aren't you," she observed in a timid tone once she was within view.

charlotte didn't really notice that CK was uncomfortable initially; her brown doe eyes mostly focused on the screen of her device. it was only when he spoke that the languid optics flickered to gaze at him.

"what's the matter? are you alright," the sol hedgehog inquired timidly.

the sol variant was shyly peering into the room, brown eyes blinking languidly like a deer. her lashes were long, which framed her eyes and gave her the appearance of a dim sunlight.

her gloved hand grips the doorjam as the door creaks open further. charlotte jumps a bit from the noise.
