Note: regeneration is not available for imported files.

You do it from other apps which create .m4a files.

eg: iOS Voice Recorder, VRP7, etc.

Click their 'Share' button and you'll see the blipvox icon.
Tap that and you'll see a window pop up as it sends the file.
Then, next time you open blipvox, it will automatically generate the new video. 👍

My big deal with audio is that it's the most unique medium, that can be consumed or created while doing other things.

You put it perfectly earlier.

It can be a lot easier for some people to express themselves through just audio. No camera required.

Recorded back in 2017 with VRP7.

A happy side-effect of the new regeneration feature :)

It certainly used to be that way with Android.

It's very frustrating now.

Not yet, but it's something I can look in to supporting better with VoiceOver in a future update.

Quick note to Android users specifically..

The app currently only has the permissions to record when the app is open.

Backgrounding the app during recording will currently create silent audio.

I do intend to update this but it means some code refactoring.

It'll come

A release plan? #blipvox … 👀

Yet another Google Play app development issue..

You't just release an app. There's an enforced Testing period where..

"at least 12 testers who have opted in and remain active for a minimum of 14 consecutive days before the app can be submitted for production release".

Sigh.

Apparently Apple can accept a PO Box.

I will not be charging for these apps via app stores.
It's just far too much rigmarole to set up, along with the crazy restrictions placed by these platforms, killing hobby developers.

I will just be putting a 'PayPal.me' link on the website. :)

It also looks like #Blipvox will never get to the Android Google Play store.

Even if I set up a PO Box, it still requires a 'Google Payments' profile tied to it, which requires your real address.

For the foreseeable future the Android version will only be available via a manual APK download.
