The polar bears need their Arctic winds. I, too, must keep my home chilly for a domesticated polar bear.

one of the ways you know this is a genocide is that the news is never "IDF wins a battle" or "IDF secures new territory"

it's just about dead Palestinians, all the time, every day

An instagram post by teewatterss that has a Twitter post saying “”he can’t keep getting away with this” and it’s just Pedro Pascal on a red carpet” overlaid on a picture of actor Pedro Pascal on the red carpet looking exceedingly handsome in a sleeveless tank.

Capitalism teaches us it’s wrong to rest.

Ableism teaches us being sick means we’ve failed.

Fascism teaches us that disabled people are expendable.

None of it is true. It’s ok to rest. In fact, for most of us it’s necessary.

Disability is not a moral failing and none of us are expendable.

New study reveals wealth inequality was never inevitable A recent study published in the journal PNAS is overturning traditional wisdom regarding the origins and inevitability of wealth inequality

A massive study of 50,000 households over 1,000 archaeological sites provides ample evidence that inequality is not a "natural" outgrowth of sophistication. Instead, it is a political choice. Which means, kids, that we don't have to choose it.

Some good news in higher education: Ft Lewis college (where Native students make up 40% of enrollment) has installed their first Indigenous President!

To me Rowling exists entirely outside of the “should we support/work with artists with troubling views?” debate. She doesn’t just *think* her opinions, she doesn’t just *say* them, she’s a relentless 24-7 activist whose whole mission in life is terrorizing trans people.

If you decide not to vaccinate your child because you subscribe to conspiracy theories about them causing autism, what you’re actually saying is that you would rather your child die than your child live with a disability. Your love for your child is conditional and you shouldn’t be a parent.

I fail to be surprised by anything but it is especially yuck when Non-Natives commercialize and profit from our tragedy as Natives.

I have asthma. When you have an asthma attack, you can't pull in oxygen. It is terrifying. If feels like you're going to die.

An inhaler can help, but in a severe attack, it is not enough. You could die.

She is being tortured, and she may die.

Because she wrote an op-ed.

Suggesting the world is “post COVID” contributes to an unwitting shift in research priorities

Stop saying “post covid”. People are confusing the end of the public health emergency with the end of the pandemic.

The pandemic is not over. “During COVID” is now.

If we want to end it, we need to first acknowledge this fact. Then mask up, clean the air & develop better vaccines & treatments.

It always boggles my mind that I, a journalist, am expressly forbidden from trading stocks, but members of Congress, with vastly greater knowledge of market-moving news, are allowed to profit by front-running markets, and so may profit by in essence stealing from the public they represent.

I'm not going to stop saying this. We need to stop calling it "deporting." It may not always be fair or humane, but deportation has a process. And it means you're sent back to where you came from. These people are being trafficked and sold to slave prisons. Not deported.

It is now April 9, 2025. The largest tariffs on China of 104% have now gone into effect along with the rest of the tariff rates adopted by the White House. Good luck.

17 Montana Republicans Cross Party Lines, Defeat Anti-Trans Bill After Nonbinary Rep's Speech Representative Howell delivered a speech against SB164, a bill that would charge parents with child abuse for providing gender affirming care even if they were merely driving through the state.

1. Major victory in Montana.

17 Republicans crossed party lines after a strong speech from Representative Howell to defeat a bill that would have charged parents, even those passing through the state, with felony child endangerment for their trans youth.
