We don’t have universal healthcare for the same reason that white southerners poured cement into their community swimming pools rather than let their black neighbors swim in them. Racism is ruining ALL of our lives.

Nothing happened, or maybe no one noticed why it was urgent to get help!
I’m still here, nothing’s changed. I hoped the plea would help me move forward, but that’s life

This is DC at its worst. ICE has more funding than most of the world’s militaries. Many of these requirements are already law. They took the initial massive increase in funding and turned it on us. The *only* acceptable path forward is to abolish ICE. 1/
"The children’s mother called the school early Thursday to tell them she’d been detained and asked school leaders to bring the kids to her at the Whipple Federal Building ... because there were no family members ... to care for them.
“We had to deliver them to a detention center,” Kuhlman said.
hey if you want to help people in Minnesota pay rent when they can't work due to the federal government occupying their city for the purpose of oppression, ethnic cleansing and terrorism, here's a place to donate chuffed.org/project/1671...
Incredible. Millions are newly-mobilized, questioning how their taxes are being used to hurt their neighbors.
Republicans are in a terrible position.
Democrats have huge leverage.
And they may just go ahead and give DHS more money — as long as they slap on a few rules DHS is already not following.
Rest in power to a true hero! Her impact was massive and showed through her hard work and dedication to those in need. 🫡😞
Please share and help this family if you’re able to.
A kindergartener is one of a growing number of children in Maine who have been left without a parent as the Trump administration carries out a major immigration enforcement effort, according to local officials.
Please share. They need your help today.
ICE deported a 5-year-old US citizen to Honduras, where she had never been, after holding her & her mother in a hotel room 80 miles from home for several days and not allowing them access to a lawyer www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...
Tremendously disappointing and misses the inflection point we’re at. Can’t convince me this is a win or sound governance at this point. A 5 point plan tested by consultants so that Dems don’t appear “soft”.
People with money need to donate to all the other fundraisers. Please do this.
The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call “symbolic compliance.”
That’s when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.
A lot of Dems are going to take Bovino and Noem being fired as the finish line, and it's very important to make it clear to them that it is a starting line
Current status of the fundraisers for those killed by ICE:
Renee Good: $1,499,580
Alex Pretti: $1,289,249
Keith Porter, Jr. $302,423
Parady La: $45,848
Heber Sanchez Dominguez: $47,991
Luis Beltrán Yanez Cruz: $18,640
Victor Manuel Diaz: $2,538
Geraldo Lunas: $2,260
Luis Gustavo Núñez: $1,935
Exactly right.
Bovino's leaving? Great, get Noem to resign.
Noem resigns? Great, defund and dismantle ICE.
Go after Stephen Miller too. Bring charges against ICE thugs at the state and local level. Lawsuits. New state laws restricting them.
Every possible angle.

We've raised a lot of money for my school community neighbors.
And I predict all of it will be depleted by the end of this week.
If you're in a position to donate, please help: paypal.me/lyndalepto

I'm so glad there's more attention on the violence, trauma and lives lost due to this federal occupation.
AND we also need more attention on the less visible but INTENSE impact on our neighbors who haven't been able to leave home for weeks, are hungry, scared & at risk of eviction.

experts warn it’s dangerous for murderous nazis to kick in your door
But if we didn’t have some kind of immigration enforcement, what would happen?
A bunch of people who’ve lived here for years wouldn’t fear deportation? Labor and community orgs would be stronger thanks to that lack of fear? Abusers couldn’t threaten to call ICE?
Honestly seems win/win.
People are right to be incensed, but there are more names to uplift. ICE killed an immigrant man named Silverio Villegas González in Chicagoland. He had children. Victor Manuel Diaz was kidnapped in Minneapolis and died in ICE custody on January 14. Their names deserve to be repeated, too.
A Black man was killed by ICE (off duty) in Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve. And like Renée Good, he was an American citizen. But most people have not heard about Keith Porter.
I need y’all to realize this. Black people experience this lack of visibility all the time when it comes to being victims.
When we talk about people murdered by ICE, we shouldn't forget Keith Porter, a black man who was shot by ICE on new years eve
BTW when I say abolish ICE, I mean abolish it entirely and replace it with exactly nothing. Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free. That's it.
The StarTribune live blog is paywall free:
- The man shot by federal agents this morning has died
- Several witnesses have already been transported to the Whipple building.
- ICE attempted to order local police from the scene, but O’Hara refused, sources said.

"Speaking with residents, over and over again I heard a sense of blistering outrage at the utter gratuitousness of it all. Things were more or less fine until ICE showed up and started snatching random civilians off the street." prospect.org/2026/01/23/m...
The 5-year-old arrested by ICE In Minnesota is detained at Dilley. We reported on conditions there in the below article.
Parents said the food was contaminated with mold and worms & that children were so under so much stress that they were hitting their own faces & wetting themselves.
