Don't stress too much about your inventory. Mostly go with a "basic kit" to bring, and use what you find in the dungeon more or less liberally, is my advice.
Warp orbs, Slumber Orb, Petrify Orb, or even just an escape orb to get outta there all can help!

Yeah, self-destruct trap is rough, I'd usually recommend keeping orbs specifically as a "monster house answer". That, or carrying moves that can hit the entire room and disabling them until necessary
