Ahhh, Dr T. Good to see your face and hear your voice again. Thank you for all your good work and, especially, your writing. Wishing you all the best!

UO doesn’t need more money nor students. It’s already a blight on downtown Eugene.

But I agree with you about OSU and other public universities.

Hi, berin. My partner and I eat lettuce we’re growing in three seed trays (maybe 18x12”?) that we seed one at a time, offset by a couple of weeks. We harvest by trimming down to 2-3” so each cycle of each tray gives us ~3 harvests. We haven’t bought lettuce for months. No land needed. Big savings!

Two hooded figures with lamps approach a moonlit, isolated cottage.
A woman answers the door.
We have come for the child, says the hooded figure
So soon? she asks
It is time, says the hooded figure.
The woman is distraught. We should never have got him a library card!
What is done cannot be undone, says the hooded figure
We couldn’t see the harm! We just wanted him to enjoy reading!
For most, it ends there, says the hooded figure, turning away and walking into the wilderness
Oh lord, What have I done! says the woman,
the child walks past her and out into the darkness with them.
Do not cry mother.
I am a writer now.

Not daily for me, but when it gets messed up: Oy! But worth it in the appropriate situations.

And sometimes, when I start with the right attitude, it reminds me to be present and attentive. (Something parents don’t often have the luxury of, I realize.)

I think/believe that you two will help each other as you both learn to weather new ways.

She trusts you and you have mad skillz.

And you have a bunch of us cheering for you as you move forward. Including during the imperfect times.

Thank you for bringing us along on this learning/remembering journey.

I’m curious what motivates you to research all the different things you post here.

Super, thanks! We already have black locust planted here, but I’d rather avoid their thorns. I’ll look into the others.

Couple of things:

How can you say that soil and water are non-living?

Insects have emerged for considerably longer than thousands of years.

I do enjoy your explainer vids!

If you have a moment, would you happen to know whether there are similar trees that would grow on the south Oregon coast? Specifically “Fence posts [could be] created by sticking branches in the ground that root.”

Thanks, btw, for the tree fodder resources.

It was impressive here.
