Finally, a subscription to Banshee was recommended as a great Christmas present for literature lovers in @irishtimes.com π

One of my favourite things I've ever written. Lovely to see it still going.
Well that was just lovely. π A gorgeous splash of sunshine on a chilly October evening. Well done to all involved in the making of Leonard & Hungry Paul - the series. @ronanhession.bsky.social @ofmooseandmen.bsky.social Hope youβre celebrating ππππ
Going to do this more often!Perfect way to start a day π βοΈ β° π
I have done this a few times lately! Feels like such a treat. Need to set a timer though or Iβd still be there at lunch time! βΊοΈ
Have definitely listened to more books in the past few years & the number is growing. Also ebooks are great for travel & I seem to read them faster. I love to read hard copies (still my favourite form) in bed but I canβt keep my eyes open for more than a few pages!
How exciting RΓ³!!

Bliss. Will there be walks?
Thanks! I canβt actually see the option I like which has 1 week over 1 page but also a monthly planner over 2 pages at the start of each month. Iβll pop into you to have a look soon anyway!
Is there a planner style one? With weekly diary plus a month at a glance page?
This will be great! Wish I could be there. π
Great article.
Lovely afternoon catching up with these two beauties today (before the rain came!) Always go home with a smile on my face after spending time in their company @jackielynam.bsky.social & @carolineheffo.bsky.social
Hmmm I hear you but I need to think about this. (And Iβm currently on holiday and in a Cava haze so this is not the time) ((and itβs taken a very long time to type this π€«))

Front cover of Susie Dent's new book "Words For Life"
The blurb for Susie's new book. "Did you know that the Scots have over 400 words for snow or what a binfluencer is? What about the medieval invention of Lubberland as a place for lazy teenagers or how Mayday became a request for help? Lexicographer extraordinaire and Queen of Dictionary Corner, Susie Dent does. From wabbit to dust bunnies, from the strange history of arse to the best ways to describe moonlight, WORDS FOR LIFE offers a full year's supply of verbal vitamin shots guaranteed to entertain and enlighten, to brighten and boost every single day. From a Mother-in-Law's Dream to a Yuleshard, in Susie Dent's hands these amazing expressions can fix (or at least nail) the problems of modern life, whether it's dealing with unrequited love or an unsatisfactory politician, eating a whole packet of biscuits or forgetting someone's name. From starting January 1 with your best foot forward (qualtagh) to leaping happily into the unknown (with a drink in your hand) on 31 December, every year is a journey and now you have the perfect guide all the way through. And 365 words you'll want to keep for life."

All Things Cease To Appear by Elizabeth Brundage
This book has been languishing in a TBR pile for about 5 yrs & I finally decided to give it a bash last week. So glad I did. Beautifully written literary thriller thatβs quite unlike anything Iβve ever read before. Highly recommend. #bookreview
