That is a TINY kitten oh my gosh!
Repost with your first fictional crush!
I feel like a lot of people tend to have a vivid memory of theirs. I feel like I've never had a proper crush, but I have ABSOLUTELY had characters I went "AYO?!" I think one of the earliest was Vivian. I mean, can you fault me? Look at how sweet!
Oh please don't tell me we're about to have discourse about how so much as referencing a pose or color palette or something else you liked about the work of another artist is theft
You can't treat your peers like they're AI models trying to train off you unethically. We're coworkers shut the fuck up
Let's do a lil take two:
Heya, it's Rei!
Gonna be joining ArtFight? Here's my link!

It is a CRIME how cute she is omg
I know you remember when I used to use that name lol
I liked it a lot, and I liked the pun with it! It was more reflective of myself too. I love sheep, and I love vampires. lol
Honest feedback is appreciated! I'll make my decision personally, but I want to hear other perspectives and see if maybe I'm not considering something that I really ought to.
If it makes any difference, I'm considering going back to an older username, EweVampress, cause it fit me better personally.
So here is my question:
1) Are you sick of the name changes? Do you want me to stick to a single name and stop changing it?
2) Would you be fine if I took on an older name? Would it be a bother to anyone?
3) Does it even really matter to anyone else?
[2/3] 🧵
So I've been considering this for a good lil while, and please do tell me your honest opinions!
Long time followers will know I've always liked changing my username regularly. I like making tiny lil gags and puns with them. PhoRaminal is one of those names I've had longer than most.

A commission listing in the form of a picture showing two examples of a base, one holding a flower and one holding a leaf, they are jumping/falling. The example shows my dark fairy holding a leaf herself as shes adorned in purples
Spring time!! I decided to turn that adorable drawing I made into a YCH of sorts for a cheap price of 8$ USD!

You should! You can't use bases...but reference are fine! And it's a great way to do art trades with lots of people! Your first year is usually a lot less stressful too cause not many people know you yet. I've done it for...6 years in a row? This year will be my 7th lol highly recommend!
Hey everyone, reminder that like every year so far I am participating in art fight!

I am once again begging people--
You do not have to follow people who make you uncomfortable or who you dislike, but at least be open to hearing people you disagree with out. Getting different perspectives is SO HEALTHY FOR YOU, you will develop better critical thinking skills, I promise.
Can I apply this to basically any and all of the animatronics for FNAF?
They're children, they're all dead children, please PLEASE stop being weird about horror mascots, challenge impossible..
But they were mine anyway and that Ex straight up said they did it to be petty and spiteful. Literally held a public poll at the time on their Tumblr being like "I know they aren't mind but I'm feeling vindictive lol"
I've updated those characters since anyway but people be crazy fr fr
I don't feel like I really did this overtly? But I have characters like my main three girls from the era during a time I knew an Ex GF, who I am aware took the characters and turned them into predators towards minors and I felt like that was really gross.
The way this specific line gave me whiplash like, bruh WHAT?!
This is a tella novella, a whole ass soap opera on it's own--
As for the question, I've always been on the fence about it. Most of the time, no, but there are rare few occasions it makes sense, like here.
Honest to god, like on GOD, i am TIRED of seeing these "Art tutorials" slamming classic methods and stylistic choices.
Can we STOP intimidating artists?! Can we stop insisting everything they do is wrong?! Esp with its just an image with an X and Check with NO EXPLINATION
FFS!
It's why I asked for one when I was younger. I got mine like...middle school era I think? My step father gave it to me along with some really shitty manga program that came with it. I never got that to work tho so I ended up downloading SAI lmao. I think my fave over the years has to be the Cintiq.
NO WAIT LITERALLY SAME
Years ago now, I was given a Wacom Bamboo. The black one with the green tag on it? They were discontinued a long time ago now, and I remember I upgraded to an Intuos when my Bamboo died eventually. The Bamboo at the time was promoted as a "Beginner Artist Friendly Tablet!"
And like, man, me too, I also don't really get tangent lines and why having them now especially apparently gets you accused of being "AI" like, bro, no, I'm just stupid, thas all that means lmao
I think what's funny is at the time of the first quote, they specifically were referencing tangent lines and how, as a younger artist, you really wanna be open to critique with stuff like that but it was such a weird concept to grasp that is took them YEARS to really understand what those are.
And something about both those quotes really resonated with me ngl.
I gotta really take in and absorb those lesson but they're such good wisdom.
They also recently said such a solid line, "I don't feel the need to bash my older art and younger self because without them, I wouldn't be here. There is still joy and happiness in the memories behind that art, and I'm very grateful to them."
One of my favorite artists I follow on YT said years ago "You know when as an artist, you want to be receptive of something, so you nod along but don't really UNDERSTAND until years later it clicks and you feel so dumb?"
Me, me AF
Being an artist is being open to study and learn from your fellow artists, and your past self, to really figure out what makes you excited to draw lol
Yes absolutely!
I think, for me, I've just been around a lot of people hyper critical about looking "professional" to their detriment and mine. Or looking traditionally pretty and painted. And it lost a lot of the charm I feel like my art used to have.
But what does that matter? I've never sold my art. I don't make money with my skills. I've always been a hobbyist and an amateur and I'm happy with that. Art is a passion, not a life line to survive. I should be allowed to have an "unattractive" style.
