The French government vision on tech independence, including a move to Linux for every computer, including employee workstations, is exemplary.
I hope many more organizations will follow, including my own. I'll be doing some talking.
Me fake teaching my colleagues at Health Campus The Hague, with clenched fists and a broad smile.
The role of teachers is rapidly changing. One aspect that will stay is being the inspiring motivator. There's only one way to convey passion for a topic, and that is being on fire yourself.
I hope to do just that and believe that this is what makes teachers forever valuable.

That is very cool indeed. I didn't even know physical copies were (still) a thing!
The lecture room from the back, and the other two teachers upfront.
Lecturing to dozens of astronomy students, and catching up with people I last saw when these students were still in elementary school. Good fun.
Het klaslokaal van je zoon binnenlopen en dan een rap van Def P uitgeprint zien liggen, omdat die morgen wordt opgenomen door de kinderen. Het komt heus wel goed met de wereld. #jeugdsentiment
A big Thank You to the Hungarian people. Thanks for showing the world how this is done. Congrats, too! We're all glad to get rid of the endless veto in Europe!
I am flabbergasted, and genuinely disappointed by the sheer amount of non-fact-checked nonsense Mistral's LeChat is giving me, even when my profile says to fact check everything, always. I'd love to move to nicer European alternatives, but it is heavily letting me down, far too often.
Zeker!
Proms: The Four Seasons Recomposed.
Vivaldi Recomposed, by Max Richter. The concert was led by the fantastic violin soloist William Hagen. It was amazing!
An independent arXiv
I'm a bit late passing this news on, but a few weeks ago arXiv announced that from 1st July 2026 it will be establishing itself as an "independent nonprofit organization". It has been hosted for many years by Cornell University. You can read here about the reasons for this andβ¦

In deze tijd nog een evenement aankondigen met Gommers als gastspreker... Ik weet het niet.
You will likely look straight into the beam of those, though!
A page of a book saying "This is not for you."
A mostly Weyermann based malt bag backpack with scrap car seatbelts
The laptop pouch on the inside is from Holland Malt, showing some Munich malt bag details.
Malt bag backpack! This sturdy backpack is made from used malt bags and scrap car seatbelts. You get to choose between different maltsters and malt varieties, so I went for some of my favorites.

And yes, that means you get one item less on your glorious CV that builds towards promotion. So be it. Explain in your leadership section how you go about these issues and it should attract some positive attention. Right?!
When grant amount times probability to get it becomes so low that, after correction for the hours spent on the proposal, the amount of work that can be done by junior personnel is smaller than the amount of work you could have done in the time spent on the proposal: don't propose, just do the work.
Bonus points if you know the origin.
A page of a book, saying (in handwriting): "Hey, put the book down. Come in here + stay." Followed by a "OK", which is lined through.
A little brain dump on promotion in academia and industry. #AcademicSky, I'm interested in your thoughts, too!

No line at mine either which was next to elementary school and I was there a minute after start of the school....
I've seen a metric ton of flyers today for the local elections tomorrow. Was all that paper and printing really worth the payoff?
When you confirm teacher and content 30 hours before class, can you still be considered a decent course coordinator?
Asking for a friend, obviously.
Sounds like you might enjoy Pop!_OS as well. Cosmic is a really nice DE. Great support for Nvidia GPUs, too!
The correcte manier is natuurlijk yyyy-mm-dd, dus dan klopt het toch aardig.
