'tis the season to meditate on fragility, loss, and grief, but also to understand that only in adversity can we begin to see clearly again

People have to stop expecting Trump breaking a rule or precedent to be what puts an end to this. There are no guardrails, no referees, no institutional block.

The only thing that will stop this is a grassroots movement of people organizing to reject an oligarchical takeover. That’s it. Period.

I don’t find it useful to debate about what design is or isn’t, or even what craft means. Who cares? Do what is necessary for the thing at hand and understand why you’re doing it. Build your personal toolbox. That’s it.

I don't know if I could ever move back, my lifestyle and interests just no longer align with what NYC had to offer and I often found myself really bored there. I think if you're cool with a more consumerist externalized lifestyle it's a good move, but nowadays it feels way too much like parts of SF
